FReep the Democrat AG who is running for Governor this weekend see story below.
POC for questions: naturallaw@hotmail.com (a friend of mine)
To participate in the peaceful demonstration outside Our Lady of Good Counsel, a parish that celebrates their most high-profile member, Jennifer Granholm (pro-abortion extremist gubenatorial candidate), come in a spirit of prayer, good will, and quiet witness.
Join pro-lifers present there before or after one of the OLGC masses this weekend. The Masses are Saturday at 4 pm, Sunday at 8 am, 10 am, 12 pm, and 5 pm.
You should be there 30 minutes before any given Mass, or 45 minutes after the start of any given Mass (for example, 9:30 am or 10:45 am Sunday to convey your message to the attendees of the 10 am Mass).
If you make signs, the theme of the demonstration is the Church's teaching about abortion, what abortion really is, and that Catholics, particularly politicians like Granholm, support murder when they are "pro-choice." Thus, signs might say "The Church is Pro-Life," "Granholm's Abortion Advocacy is Not Catholic," "Pro-Choice = Abortion," etc.
OLGC is located on the Northwest corner of N. Territorial Road and Beck Road in Plymouth Michigan. Take Exit 18 off of M14 and go south on Beck Road. The first intersection is N. Territorial, and the Church is on your right.
******* Park on the outlet street by the Fire Station, off Beck Rd just North of N. Territorial!******
Then walk over to the Church. You will see people with signs. Ask for George or Lori or Diane or Cecile and tell them you're there to participate. They will tell you where to stand and in what manner.
The sidewalk and the grassy area between the sidewalk and the street are public rights of way where you can stand, but neither the street nor the sidewalk can be obstructed, nor will OLGC permit demonstrators on their property. For obstruction or trespass you risk a citation. Otherwise, peaceful demonstration on a public right of way appropriate for pedestrians is not being prosecuted.

which include displaying photos of aborted fetuses. I defend their right to picket, and that Grandholm and all those who go against the Pope's teachings about abortion should be picketted, but when you feel the need to display aborted fetuses, you destroy your message.

Until Cardinal Maida and Bishop Britt carry out this duty, the lay faithful must wage an ongoing public campaign, through every charitable means, to address Granholms and OLGCs scandal, clarify the Churchs teaching, and persuade the bishops to do their duty.I agree one hundred percent!

. . . but when you feel the need to display aborted fetuses, you destroy your message. Quite frankly, the aborted fetuses are the message. The reason pro-abortion Catholics (whether they be politicians or clergy) get away with their stance is that they've convinced themselves and others that they are talking about something as benign as gallstone surgery.

If these people are smart, and I believe they are, they will enlist the help from pro life organizations that are non Catholic Lutherans for Life, Messianic Jews for Life and so on. Make this truly an ecumenical demonstration and watch Cardinal Maida and Bishop Britt begin to take this travesty seriously.

God Bless you in your endeavors. It's high time that people learned that hypocrisy in the Church is totally unacceptable. There is no gray area here.
Too bad we weren't closer. We'd be there with you.

, but when you feel the need to display aborted fetuses, you destroy your message. I think I've come to agree with that in terms of an internet forum such as this one. However, I think it is very effective for this lay group of Catholics:

THIS IS AN ADDITIONAL EVENT AT THE DETROIT CATHEDRAL BEING HELD THIS SATURDAY MORNING to encourage the Cardinal to break his silence - it is in addition to the picketing at OLGC parish in Plymouth. As you know I'm coming in from Chicago. I'm definitly coming in time for the 3:30 Saturday mass protest at the parish, and I'll go to the 9:30 protest at the Cathedral if I can get to Detroit early enough.
Please let me know about any other witness opportunities this weekend. Thanks.

As to the huge color photos of the American Holocaust:
Trust me,
with my 4 adorable kids (ages 3 - 11) standing their waving smiling at the cars while standing beside me holding my adorable newborn and my gorgeous slender wife in her tasteful dress and shimmering hair holding the sign, all of us smiling and waving and hugging one another,
our message rings beautiful, tragic, true and clear.
A Huge Majority of parishioners WAVES BACK AT US AND SMILES.

Excellent information, it really gives flesh to this battle.

I don't think putting up abortion photos on this site was effective. JimRob doesn't want them on the forum, so it is a mute point anyhow.
On the other hand, if you read the link I put up, it outlines why I think they can be effective in other circumstances.

I wish you had warned us of a "barf alert". This idiot is truly the husband of a politician. He may fool some members of this parish with his drivel ladden letter, but there's one person who can never be fooled or co-opted.
That's the person he should save his worthless rhetoric for, but our Lord ain't going to buy his tripe.

As I live in New Jersey, I won't be able to attend. Rest assured, I'll be praying for you. I'm sure you'll do a great job. Benedicat te omnipotens Deus.

I could not disagree more. What person was able to look at the film footage of Holocaust victims being bulldozed into a mass grave? I'm willing to bet even some hardened Nazi anti-semites had their hearts melted by such images. And who could look at the photographs of former slaves with their backs covered with scar tissue from the whip and still feel that slavery was somehow justified? So too, the image of aborted fetuses will stick in the minds of the most hardened pro-aborts -- forcing them to confront the reality of their political view.
Far from destroying the pro-life message, the ghastly images utterly demolish the "pro-choice" fallacy.

AND THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE
I agree that people should see the results of their stance.
