Whatta ya mean? :-)
From this thread WELCOME PRESIDENT BUSH TO CALIFORNIA AUGUST 23rd & 24th: LET'S RALLY!!!:Alas, we were greatly outnumbered. There were hundreds of anti-Bush protesters. We numbered about 15. There were so many people handing out Communist literature, I was in shock. It seemed everyone with a "cause" was out to complain and blame Bush. The ignorance of college students never fails to amaze me.
As I approached the crowd, I asked one of the many police officers if there were any pro-Bush or Simon people in the crowd.....he told me they were probably home feeding their family breakfast. ;^)

Don't shoot the messenger.
Not everyone is convinced that getting in a Lefty's face makes one iota of difference in the scheme of things.
They were saying something, and you were saying something else. Whoop-ti-doo.
Don't get me wrong: If this floats your boat, to believe that you're making a difference by holding up a sign on a street-corner in response to the signs-on-street-corners that others are holding up, then GO FOR IT!
Well, it takes a lot more balls to stand on a street corner in the face of the enemy than it does to condescend to your "fellow conservatives" from the comfort of your keyboard.
What better to do on a saturday night than to pump oil from the ground and spray it into the air. Its even more exciting when you light it. Causes earthquakes, you know.
It makes a big difference. Although this rally was not typical in that we were swallowed up by the left, generally we can get several interviews with local reporters/TV/radio and they will generally mention that opposition protestors were in attendance, not to mention tossing in a picture. As opposed to NO opposition, this can make subtle yet defineable differences in the way readers (read- voters) perceive and remember what happened.
"No justice, no peace!"
"Will of the People is to defend the USA!"
"Visualize whirled peas!" Ping to you. (^:
But the Yankee curmudgeon is right behind ya.
DO...Being the slightly anachronistic type myself I tend to like melees. Thus a partial explanation of my limited event attendance. I think I'd be hard pressed for self control at times.
Many of us conservatives used to be liberals in out youth....I am guilty of being a member of P.E.T.A. and helping to found "Virginians Against Cruelty to Animals". We did wonderful things like picket restaurants that served veal and protest furriers. I never broke into research labs or threw paint on anyone, but I was a "screaming vegetarian liberal".
My how views change after you are in the real world.
