A Few of FR's Finest..... ......Every Day
FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute and support our military and our leaders; tell a few jokes; learn a new word; write poetry; pray for those in need; and congratulate those who are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which we can express ourselves.
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. I can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001
So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.
Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!
And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

It's A DOG'S World
"I am the proud owner of a 2 yr old Mini Daschund named Sadie. I am an animal lover - dogs mainly; hence my screen name. The name I wanted was taken....Mad Dog....LOL!"
Dog
FReeper since 01-05-00 New Mexico
The photo above is the only picture Dog has online, but what fun it was to put him in other places! Look at him below! He should have been a young man living in the 40's instead of now; the ZOOT SUIT was made for him! (pictured below with FReeper HiJinx in a 40's Fashion Thread posted at the Canteen earlier this year)
Dog was one of the first males to join The Guild; since he's always loved researching and investigating things, it made him an ideal candidate for the Men's Auxiliary group of the Investigative Guild. See his photo below, relaxing in Howlin's family room, where the group met every day.
Currently, Dog's favorite thread is America, the Right Way, and though you will find him there most every day, he still makes time to browse FR for other threads offering the latest news, or humor (people need to laugh more nowadays, he says).
Dog ISN'T an Elvis fan, IS a Bush fan (oops! he didn't want me to mention that. LOL....too late! It's okay though, because this is a Bush friendly thread), and he told me that Elian was the reason he came out of lurker mode and became an active FReeper.
I guess we can say, "Thank you, Elian and God Bless you." And to you, Doggie, I say for all of us......
You're one of FR's Finest!

I was thinking DiCicco's tomorrow night if it is okay with everyone. We don't have to have Mexican food to have margaritas. Or maybe a glass of wine (help out the farmers. LOL) Well, I'm trying.
Hey...... I had two activist activities that I could have attended yesterday. Only knew about one. The grape growers were picketing Allied for only offering $65 per ton when it takes $125 to cover costs; I should have made a sign and joined them.
The other one was just down the street and I knew nothing about it. Bill Simon was in Raisin City yesterday. Don't people know by now that I live near Raisin City? Guess not! Nothing to brag about! LOL

;-) Trust me - I know TheLook. "Daddy if you don't feed me more I'll just waste away." You must be more strong, you will to have a happy, healthy poochie, and ignore these pitiful looks.
After all, they do have the snap of a four year old - and those guys can be very compelling.
You are the adult - they are the pinheads. Do what you need, and poochie, needs for you to do. ;-)

Yep! I had a good start on it. but some of my grahpics I had on it I had to change as I seem to have lost most of the ones I got on the canteen.
I added some more as well as more text. I still have to put more on and I have to find a good picture of President Bush in a cowboy hat I did have one but I can't seem to find it. as it is, my page only has Laura on it. (I think she's going to be lonely without George!)
I also want to put some more religious pictures on the page like a crucifix and a picture of St. Francis pf Assisi and one of St.Clair of Assisi.

Remember what I said last night about being on call? Well, it was one of those days. Had to drive an hour to Huntington to be with a family while dad had heart surgery. Then had to rush home in time to counsel a couple I will marry in Sept. A full day and I'm sorry I've missed all the doggy stuff.

A full day and I'm sorry I've missed all the doggy stuff. I missed most of the thread today also. I had appointments most of the day. But I was able to catch Dog and congratulate him before he had to leave to get some sleep before his 3AM wake-up call. I didn't read all the posts, but from what I've seen, it looks like it was a nice day here. But then it is always a nice day on the Finest thread. :-)

Thanks, I will tune in. Love dfu!
To: Dog
Congrats Dog, for being today's honoree. I'm sorry I didn't get here to play until after you went to bed.

Hi .30Carbine! Thanks for coming by to salute Dog. I think he has left to get some sleep before his early morning wake-up call, but I'm sure he will see your post tomorrow. :-)
To: Mama_Bear
Hey, you! Haven't seen YOU all day either! Do I need to speak to your husband? :)
