A Few of FR's Finest..... ......Every Day
FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute and support our military and our leaders; tell a few jokes; learn a new word; write poetry; pray for those in need; and congratulate those who are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which we can express ourselves.
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. I can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001
So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.
Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!
And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

New York, New York!
Like the rest of you, I'm "Getting to Know You", more of you, better every day. Today we shine the on firebrand, a native of East Orange, N.J., who has lived in Manhattan since her college years. She first became political in 1992 because of neighborhood events, and in '94, switched from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party. Firebrand is presently a local GOP leader and is also active in GOP clubs around town.
firebrand
FReeper since 02-27-00
Firebrand has a high profile job as an editor of conservative material and prefers not to have her photograph published. Since she joined FR in February of 2000, she has become more than just a passive FReeper, and her list of accomplishments and activities include the following:
- Chapter Executive of the Tri-State Chapter
- (Prior to becoming the Chapter Executive, she was the New York City Group Leader);
- Editor of the Clinton Legacy Cookbook;
- Organizer of the Bush rallies in Times Square and practically every other rally and protest FR has held in New York City.
A few words about firebrand shared with me by another FReeper:
"She organized the Freeps in Times Square to call on Al Gore and LIEberman to give it up in late November 2000 and December 2000. She was at the UN Freep, I think, the Mexican Embassy, the one where the globalists marched, we sang patriotic songs and the Cops loved us, extended our permits for unlimited time! Rudy in Newburgh, too, she was there when Rudy shook all our hands and posed for pictures with us, Kathryn Prudhomme in front of Hillary's campaign headquarters in NYC...." ~~ Race Bannon
I always enjoy seeing some of the threads linked on a FReeper's Profile Page. Firebrand has a variety of topics on hers, with such names as: Non-War On Terror; Best Memories of Favorite FR Posters No Longer Posting; Campaign Finance Revision Act; Combatting Christianity; Disrupting on FR; Democrats Mess With Texas But Run Risk of Going Too Far; Global Warming: Scientists Unravel Whodunnit; FreeRepublic.com Makes Page Six of NY Post; just to name a few.
Thanks, Firebrand! You're One of FR's Finest!

CONGRATULATIONS FIREBRAND!
To: .30Carbine; Billie; daisyscarlett; Mama_Bear
Hey there Carbine....long time no see!! How in the world are you?
You'd be real proud of my son, Eric! We're headed for his Army Basic graduation, and he's done great!! He's a squad leader, and 'expert' grenade thrower, got a medal for bayonet markmanship, and at the top of the heap in the PT evaluation! (He even traded place with a guy on the night infiltration course to get closer to the explosions!.....sound like a man after your own heart?! :o)
I'll give a full report next week. Gotta go in a few minutes! Catch you all later!

Mornin' Ladies. Enjoying the cooler temps and cleaner air?
We had an article in the Mod Bee from a FResno Bee writer telling how dangerous the ozone level is without the benefit of the wind blowing.
Isn't this the same ozone that FREON was/is destoying and thus had to be banned? Perhaps a bit of false science somewhere along the line?
A bit off topic, but you know me... A little controversy now and then. :^)

It is wonderful to see so many new people here today!
To those faithful Finest thread supporters who we see each day and to those who have come by today especially to salute our featured FReeper, Firebrand.........
Unfortunately, I can stay around today, but I wanted to welcome all of you. We hope to see you here often.
To: JustAmy
No, I don't have that one. Thank you so much......it is soooooo cute!
To: Billie
Good afternoon Billie! I had to go vote this morning and the poll workers had me practice voting on the new voting machine that they'll be using next time. It was a computer screen with touch only voting after you insert this credit card looking plastic card. All I could think is how easy it would be for the democrats to push some buttons somewhere behind the scenes and put Hillary back in the White House one day. YIKES!
To: Diver Dave
Enjoying the cooler temps and cleaner air? Yes, it is wonderful! I swear I can "feel" autumn in the air. It got down right cold here last night. :-)
Isn't this the same ozone that FREON was/is destroying and thus had to be banned? Perhaps a bit of false science somewhere along the line?
LOL! Perhaps. Now, I am confused, is the OZONE layer good, or bad? Should we try to destroy it, or should we try to preserve? I think we need another scientific study. LOL!
To: ohioWfan
We're headed for his Army Basic graduation Oh, this is exciting! I know how anxious you must be to see your son. I remember well our trip to Orlando for our son's graduation from Navy basic training. I hope you have a wonderful time.
We will want to see pictures, of course. :-)
To: Diver Dave
These are the same enviro-nuts who talk one year about global warming and the next year about another ice age coming because we are destroying the ozone.

What's supposed to happen if you click on the flag? If it's music, I'm out of luck right now.
Thanks for the great graphic and the nice thoughts!
