Dear Freepers:
I just returned from the First Annual Free Republic Network Convention in Las Vegas.
The Free Republic Network Cruise last October was the most fun I've ever had in my whole life. The Free Republic Network Conference I just attended was the most informative and inspiring two days I've ever had in my whole life.
The Free Republic Network is stretching its muscle, not by talk, but by action. The Free Republic forum is liberty's college. The Free Republic Network is liberty's workplace.
If you attended, please use this thread to post your observations, comments and highlights of the conference. I will give mine below. But before I do, I'd like to take this time to thank Bob Johnson and the FRN board for putting on this conference. It's hard for me to find the words to adequately describe how great this experience was--and how much I learned.

Notes from the Sunday morning meeting at FRiva have been posted to Activism Central on the Network site. Anyone who is interested is welcome to continue the discussion of what's next for the Network and chapters on that thread.
Nick Danger has posted some of his FRiva pictures there as well.

conniew and I went down from Canada to attend the conference. While it was very informative and stimulating, I have to admit that the thing I loved the most was putting faces to people I have know for years on Free Republic.
The assessment of the Treasure Island Hotel is bang-on too. The staff there are unbelievable. They were excellent in every way.

IT,
Thanks for the ping and info. posted to the FRN Activism forum.
Wish I had woken up early enough to make that post-conference meeting Sunday.

Those Spinal Tap folks were always just out of my grasp.......

I'm a little bit ashamed to admit this, but I have no clue where the "network" site is. Is it restricted access, or can anyone play?
To: strela
You have to register, but membership is free.
Just click on the FRN Eagle on my post.

Ping! Have you seen the conference thread yet?
To: Interesting Times
I found the site. But, I'm still waiting on chapter membership info so I can get to "Activism Central." (Sent it a couple of days ago but no response yet).
Thanks.

-----and it was great to meet you and Connie, Entrophy! (may I call you Ent??)
I'll never forget meeting my very first Freepers -- Dittomom, A Navy Vet, and First Timer. The anticipation just walking into the room where there would be Freepers is something else!
Have the two of you had many occasions to meet with Freedomers?

Ping...
To: Interesting Times
I registered, but I couldn't find where to post my comments.
The excellent program at FRIVA gave quite a bit of interesting points, but it also raised more questions for me. I'd like to see more programs that would cover my own particular, but broad questions.

Program content for future events is one of the things we want to work on during the next couple of weeks.
I'm pinging diotima to make sure you have access to the Activism Central forum at the Network.

I have missed all of the threads that must have been posted so far about the conference, so thanks for pinging me to this thread! It's been fun looking at these pictures.

Once you have a logon id, click on 'members' on the front page, then select Activism Central from the 'destinations' pull-down menu.
To: strela
You live in Dallas/N. Texas? Your request should have been sent to the chapter leader and you should have been added to the chapter, or received something at least. If you don't receive something soon, let me know. In the mean time I will set you up so that you can see Activism Central forum.
I get very busy myself and fall behind with membership issues. It will take a few hours to get you in there, as the Network's database crashes my computer because of its size. Send me your e-mail address and I will put you in.
To: Exit148
Pull down the "destinations" menu when you log in and you should have an activism central option. Once you go there, you will see the threads. If not let me know.
