President Bush headed to South Dakota today to promote his economic and homeland security packages. In a speech in front of Mount Rushmore, South Dakota, Bush called for congress to act quickly on the proposed cabinet-level position of homeland defense. The President also stated that the current homeland package proposed from the Senate strips him of authority to exempt agencies from collective bargaining requirements if national security demands it. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Is that background wall which President Bush is standing in front of a painting? Odd that it resembles a reflection of the Dakota landscape, but I guess it isn't really.

Great pictures Rintense. It gets so discouraging if all you hear is the main stream media...(i.e. our liberal in laws are buying the line that GW is taking a whole month off while our country is suffering) They are both doctorate level college professors.... how very sad.... Tell them that at least he's at his OWN place, doing manual labor, rather than using, schmoozing and getting indebted to, the rich folks in the Hamptons.

I sympathize with your parents. My husband had a retail business and we were hit with the snowstorm of the century. Our earnings went down to half. And we got audited. Good luck to your family. Sending a prayer up for them.

Eric called tonight! He's finished with Basic Training!! He just got back from his FTX and now they're just cleaning, and cleaning, and getting ready for graduation, and cleaning! LOL! My, how time flies....I recall your posts when he just started training! You must all be so proud (and relieved)! Enjoy the graduation!

Ah, so it is a painting. The photo makes it appear as if it could be polished marble reflecting the nearby landscape.

Mr. Racicot was going to start racheting up his rhetoric/appearances now that we're nearing November and people are actually starting to pay attention! And he can do it too. If you all will remember, he let the Gorey team have it when they threw out the military vote during the Florida attempted coup. He was smokin!

Maybe he did, and maybe he also heard Rush complaining that he was "getting tired of being the only conservative out there refuting all the attacks of the dems. After all, we do have an RNC." It was just a little pointed. But ... maybe it worked.

I can't find a source but I'm fairly certain I heard that on tv today.
Btw, I find it quite amusing that I can't find a source ...... even CNN's web site has no quotes today from little tommy ...... hehe!

Rintense and Kayak - well, I'd like to take credit, Kayak - but maybe it was somebody else who kept quoting that Reagan gem!Well, if it wasn't you, Freedom'sWorthIt, then I think that the credit may belong to Utah Girl.

When ever I'm asked what the difference is between a Conservative and a Liberal, my response is always the same....
Liberals are governed by "Feelings" and "Emotions"
Conservatives are governed by "Basic Principles" (right from Wrong) and "Christian Values"
It takes strength and leadership to uphold principles and values. There is no virtue or reward in allowing emotions and feelings govern the way one leads a nation.
It's much easier to be a liberal, It requires no principles and you make decisions based on feelings. Many a fallen nation shares the liberal point of view. The Brave founded this Nation and we are the greatest nation on the face of the Earth because of what we stand for. Something Liberals do NOT possess

In a speech in front of Mount Rushmore, South Dakota, Bush called for congress to act quickly on the proposed cabinet-level position of homeland defense. LOL! Calling Daschle in South Dakota! Where are you Dashcle Doolittle? Dysfunctional Daschle will you get the Senate to work when they come back in September?
To: McLynnan
It's a riddle to me why the good people of South Dakota keep Daschle in the Senate. Agree with you all the way. Especially when the whole state went for Bush in 2000!
