A Few of FR's Finest..... ......Every Day
FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute and support our military and our leaders; tell a few jokes; learn a new word; write poetry; pray for those in need; and congratulate those who are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which we can express ourselves.
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. I can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001
So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.
Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!
And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

You post the most wonderful pictures and music Aqua. Thanks so much for honoring our fly guys and gals.
I must tell you that when the music started playing on my computer, my bird Jingles started dancing around his cage and chirping. He loved it! It was so funny.
To: ClaraSuzanne
Good morning ClaraSuzanne! Have you had your coffee yet?
To: LadyX
Morning to you too! The West coast is hot, hot, hot! We are breaking the 100's again. That means ladyinred will be lolling about the pool today!
It's a hard job, but somebody has to do it! :)
To: LadyX
Morning, Maggie! Yes, let's go to lunch and while we're out, we could do a little shopping, long as we have that CC. :)
I have a hard time with the information that goes with the pics. Everyone sends it a little differently, and some give more than other, some hardly any info at all. (That, plus, I don't understand a lot of it) :)

I have a Red Robin family in my yard! I was so excited when I first saw them this spring! They are making their home in a large redwood tree in my front yard, and hop around my garden eating the berries and other little creatures that hop around there!
To: Joe Brower
You are very welcome. Sometimes it takes a while to get enough to make another group, so if you're one of the very first ones after I post a group, I can see how you might forget! :)
Thank you again for serving!
Thanks for posting your license plate logo. I don't always remember where someone is "from"!

A finer group I've never seen. Service members have a special place in my heart. Thank you for your service, and the service of your families. My older sister is retired Army, and I'd like to thank her to, if I could. Men and women like these have put their lives on hold, and on the line so we can have freedom.
Last Sunday as I sat in church listening to a wonderful sermon I tried to imagine the horror of having 1 or 2 maniacs storming the service with machine guns. That happens in so many places. At almost the same time I was musing we were asked to pray for our military who were fighting against evil in our stead. That was good for a hearty AMEN!
To: Temple Owl
I love that picture of Mrs. Temple Owl! I'm so glad I could finally 'get' the pictures, thanks to daisy! We should have thought of that earlier, instead of going through so many frustrated MIME files!
Enjoy your day, FRiend!

Thank you. I was a little worried about you playing that song this morning, I saw that you were still sleepy and knew that song was loud and may startle you...LOL! Are you sure that it didn't startle the bird?
I also read that you're going to be a lady of leisure today so you should be able to recover nicely.
To: ladyinred
How fun! I just love to see different birds around here - something besides sparrows! Actually, hummingbirds are the most fascinating of all to me. Such tiny little things and those wings never rest!

Morning, bluesage. Yes, these are all special people, and it's such an honor for me to receive the photos and put them together like this for all to see. Would love to include your sister if you want me to. It's just wonderful to see FReepers AND their family in uniform. God Bless them all!

Good morning, Billie!
These are the times that try mens souls.
The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will,
in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country;
but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman.
