Red, White, and Blue Day.... Sept. 11th

> Red, White, and Blue Day.... Sept. 11th

>

September 11, 2002 is soon approaching. On that day, please wear red, white and blue to work or school to show your support for those who lost their lives on 9~11~01 and to honor the heroes who worked to save them and the families left behind. At noon your time on September 11, 2002, no matter where you are or what you are doing, stop, put your hand on your heart, and say the Pledge of Allegiance out loud or to yourself and say a prayer for our nation.

If all of us do this together in every time zone around the world, we will have a powerful chain of thoughts surrounding us.

Please keep this going to your friends and family. By September 11, 2002 hopefully enough people will have read this and will join together in unity.

God Bless the U.S.A.

Great Idea, and enough time to get the word out. Thanks.

What is the deal with Patriot Day (9/11)? Is it a federal holiday (where banks close, etc)? Or is it just a recognition day?

Last I heard, it was just a recognition day. Frankly, I wish they would have come up with another name. We already have a Patriot Day, here in New England.

But the businesses would never allow for another Bank Holiday to be made. Costs too much money to be practical.

I got this message in an email a few days ago. I suggest we all send it to every email address we know.

This is an appropriate way to memorialize those who were murdered in the attack, those who saved others and those who fight to destroy terrorists who would kill more Americans.

Should flags be raised halfway on September 11?

It would be helpful to know what the proper flag etiquette is for this upcoming sad anniversary.

Any thoughts?

I have to admit that I am not so informed of the appropriate display on this day . For the last 3 years when the wife and I bought this home

I've flown her @ full mast regardless . I put up a new flag per 60 day's or less . I really should re-learn the proper tradition's indeed .

My attitude is good or bad she will fly high and in the wind .

The Flag in Mourning To place the flag at half staff, hoist it to the peak for an instant and lower it to a position half way between the top and bottom of the staff. The flag is to be raised again to the peak for a moment before it is lowered.

On Memorial Day the flag is displayed at half staff until noon and at full staff from noon to sunset.

The flag is to be flown at half staff in mourning for designated, principal government leaders and upon presidential or gubernatorial order.

____________________________________________________________
The President has not issued an order regarding flying the flag on 9-11-02 yet.
