JoeEveryman and the Anti-FReeper Attack on Free Republic

The anti-FReepers are on the prowl. As most of you know, there is a group of ex-FReepers who have been dogging us for the last several years. The anti-FReeper community was started several years ago by a group of disgruntled individuals who were banned from FR and then wanted to get back at us by damaging our reputation. This started out as petty name calling and rumor mongering, but they now appear determined to cause us as much harm as possible. Even to the point of attempting to get FR and FRN shut down and the owners and managers of the organizations bankrupted or jailed.

Some of the early members of the group include ex-FReepers Mojo, Aligyrl, Landshark, Z2, Headhunter, LindaM, and others who have come and gone over the years. The most recent additions to active anti-FReeping appear to be ex-FReepers Clarity, Clinton's a Liar and JoeEveryman.

There appears to be a certain love/hate relationship involved here. Some of these people hate FR and its PTB (that's "Powers That Be" in their lingo) with such passion that they cannot stay away. Some of the original members of the AF community have given up and drifted off, some have come back to FR, and some are as determined as ever to kill FR and have me and whomever else they can thrown into prison for whatever crimes they imagine us guilty. Their motivation is pure revenge. Their driving force is hatred.

Their current attack is centered around an attempt to break up the Free Republic Network and, through that angle, to cause as much damage to FR as possible. Unfortunately for all of us, there is a genuine problem with the ex-leader of the South Carolina Chapter. Apparently, there was some money collected for events that was never paid over to the vendors and the chapter leader is accused of taking off with the money. I am not going into all of the gory details here, but I understand that there is an official police investigation ongoing and the SC Chapter and the FRN are cooperating fully with the authorities. The anti-FReepers, led by JoeEveryman, are trying to gain maximum leverage from any fallout from this case and are attempting to use it to bring down FRN.

JoeEveryman ran an FR thread (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/728856/posts) last week on this subject. I eventually deleted it because it was turning into an anti-FReeper haven and I do not want that on FR. The anti-FReepers have plenty of their own websites to conduct their hate campaign. Those who are interested may find JoeEveryman (posting as "Panjandrum") on the LibertyPost.org forum, now appearing to be the latest home of the anti-FReeper community. I have undeleted the JoeEveryman thread for those who are interested in reading it, but have left it locked. I do not want any more anti-FReeping activity on FR.

JoeEveryman is now banned from Free Republic. It is clear on the thead that he ran here on FR and on this (http://www.libertypost.org/cgi-bin/readarticle.cgi?114+1485+0+1) thread on LibertyPost.org that his intent is to bring FR down and to cause us as many legal problems as he can. I cannot see allowing him to do this on my own website.

It appears to me that they are either preparing some sort of lawsuit and or are trying to entangle me, Bob J, FR and FRN into the SC case. None of us had anything to do with whatever wrongdoing may have taken place in SC. The South Carolina Chapter is an independent entity, as are all of the FR chapters, and neither FR nor FRN have any ownership or control over their activities. It appears that the anti-FReepers are trying to break that down. We'll see. FRN is cooperating fully with the authorities and I will too if they ask.

In the meantime, I do not want them scheming on FR so they are banned and will remain banned. I will also ban any other FR members who get actively engaged in this attempt to bring down FR.

A request to all. Please do not drag any of the anti-FReeper stuff to FR. I do not want it here.

Free Republic has withstood many attacks over the years, from both the left and the right and I am confident that we will survive this attack from this Free Republic Haters Association as well.

I am a libertarian, conservative enough for FR to (greatfully!) tollerate, and a member since '97.

I loved most of Clarity's posts (WFB's brother?), and have great respect for CAL. That said, sometimes the tree needs pruning.

I have great faith in Jim. This site was Jim's response to a liberal media virtually dominating the world; changing it's shape into a whining, taking, "equal outcome" place. He started this site on a shoestring.

This site literally changed the world. And it's owner is about the most humble, spiritually lifted guy I've ever known.

I would be honored to meet him, yet I'd be ashamed, for he is much more of a man than I'll ever be. How he puts up with me, I'll never know.

Although I've grown to know CAL and Clarity through electrons over the years, I have to say I've never seen Jim be wrong, when it comes to this site. It marches forward, with clarity and vision, him at the helm, but with the hand of God controlling the seas.

Sorry to see them go, but you know what you are doing. I'll be here, come hell or high water.

Mr Robinson, Normally I would advocate considering the source and forgeting it. Filthy gossips are just that, filthy gossips and the people who listen to them are no better. They are equally useless with little minds and big mouths. On occasion the situation is simply too egregious to ignore and the intent so malicious, so unfounded that you cannot allow it to stand. Verbal fisticuffs is not the solution that only serves to validate their envy and wretched jealousy. No, suing them and any subsequent generations of miserable offsprings they may have produced or ever hope to produce is the solution. Please, don't waste another moment of your time trying to accomodate pathetic, ankle-biting, attention-seeking losers. Call your lawyer.

Define your idea of radical points of view. Most of us are Freepers because our opinions are demonized as radical, by the liberal, politically correct, ememies of the Republic sites.

I don't believe we are radical, just because we choose not to tiptoe around every opinion that may be offensive to some thin skinned entity or individuals who are entirely insensitive to everyone else. I do believe we need to accept without bitterness, the decisions of Jim Robinson and his chosen monitors, when our posts are deleted or we are temporarily banned from posting. I do wish that along with banishment, you weren't also rendered mute as well. Sometimes the banishedee feels the need to discuss the offending subject with someone in authority and defend their position. Doesn't have to be public, it can be by private e-mail. Truly loyal Freepers feel that we are family, and feel totally isolated and rejected, when banned with no way to talk it over with our kin-that's the pill that ferments bitterness.

I'm just a minor member of this great and wonderful Creation of Jim Robinson, that makes it possible for us to express our opinions, beliefs and values upon a screen observed by almost everyone we wish to make aware of them. Let's not make enemies of friends, until it becomes a case of: "With friends like these, we need no enemies."

Jim, just to let you know FR has the most friction free site out there. Easy to use, understandable and sticky. Very hard to get away, and adicting. Freepers are, for the most part, great! Thankyou.

An alternative view is she got in over her head and events did not turnout like anticipated. All business seems easy till you get hold of the reins. Once the wagon starts to roll down a steep hill it is sometimes very difficult to keep it all in control.

I have a great deal of respect and admiration for what you have accomplished with FR. Thank you for your dedication and Patriotism.

The AFers are a sad lot and it seems the LP founders are trying to contain their vitriol. Not EVERYone who posts at LP are hateful and that needs to be stated.

We have enough FReeples onboard here who are vengeful. Their posts of personal attacks are unfortunate and negates what you are trying to do. It makes me ashamed.

SP, you're correct ... this is just an internet site, albeit a darn great one, and that should be kept in perspective ... by EVERYone.

So, "Anti-Freepers" are those against FreeRepublic? Must be a lot of them because unconservative stupidity is all over this country.

I've read most of this thread and I'm not sure "Anti-Freeper" is the proper term to describe the people being discussed. Since we seem to be talking about someone that thinks that some con artist in South Carolina that has nothing to do with this site magically has something to do with this site.

This is more like someone that should be described as Anti-Common-Sense. While I can see such activity on another site that attempts to trash this one is something nobody would like, I don't see why anyone here is wasting their time about it.

But, I clearly understand why you have posted about this. Over a period of time it has become obvious that you are a person of truth and integrity. And like most of us, when your honesty is called into account you don't mutely sit back in silence. Frankly, I don't care about this particular non-issue and I'm sad that you have to address it.

BTW, I wouldn't run this site. You couldn't pay me enough. This thing must be a large black hole that sucks away from you a lot more than just time and money. When you add on having to deal with this kind of garbage? Forgetaboutit!

I salute you for your smarts, bravery and grit in being able to create, maintain and grow one of the most interesting sites on the Internet. When these types, people that are anonymous cowards, trash you or this site or attempt to, I just don't listen. Hard to hear ants anyway.
