When are we going to get serious? What was it that was being smuggled? It might have been drugs. It might have been people. It might have been plutonium-235. It might have been sarin gas.
We don't know. And nowadays what you don't know can kill you!
This administration shows little stomach for straightening out the terrible situation we have with both Canada & Mexico. Why?

I hope this young man didn't die and vain, and that in the future we patrol with Apache gunships!!! Damn this makes me crazy!!! First they shoot at our agents, (mexican military), and now a "smuggler" kills one of our own. Smuggler or not, Fox ought to be held accountable for this ACT OF WAR!!!!

Of course this will be ignored just like the Mexican military intrusions across our border. I remember when I was proud of our nation. I can no longer say that, in fact, I marvel that I EVER trusted a politician of any stripe.

The ranger was responding, along with the U.S. Border Patrol, to a call for assistance from Mexican authorities who were chasing two men in a vehicle that crossed the border into the Organ Pipe National Monument.

Sounds like the perpetrators didn't fork over the required bribes to the Mexican police so they sicced the Americans on them. Reminds me of an old Townes Van Zandt song:

All the federales say
They could've had him any day
They only let him slip away... Pancho and Lefty

An act of war is committed against the US and Bush slams beers with Fox at the ranch. Bush doesn't seem to care about American citizens much. Maybe someone should check that his papers aren't fake.

There's a war going on down there, these men and women should be wearing bullet proof vests. I feel bad for his family, this should be clear evidence we need the military on the border, but I'm not holding my breath. It's those warm, historical ties dontcha know.

My wife thinks I'm crazy but I say shoot a few hundred or thousand as they cross the border and there would be a dramatic decline in the number attempting to cross.

Chasing, capturing amd sending them back is the greatest waste of time and money that our already wasteful government spends.

Bush as done **NOTHING** about the situation on the border. It grows worse each month and he's too busy talking about his bogus free-trade legislation rather than securing our borders.

I blame him for this rangers death. Long ago he could have sealed the border, like we have done for Kuwait, South Korea, etc., yet he does nothing.
