Firefighters retreat from flames as a wildfire edges closer to homes in Ranchita, California, a community in the northeastern part of San Diego County.

JULIAN, California (AP) -- More than 3,000 firefighters worked Wednesday to prevent the further spread of a wildfire that has burned across more than 80 square miles of mountainous terrain east of San Diego.

Guys please. Try to be objective about this. You know damn well that all of society's ills could be corrected if only crack cocaine, heroin, morphine, PCP, crystal meth and a litany of other drugs were legalized and readily available. In Nebraska 1991 or 2 can't remember the state spent millions on a PR campaign cutting and burning ditch weed. ( the marijuana that grows wild here) Poor pheasant, poor morning dove, no food to eat. Marijuane was plnted for forage for pheasant when brought here from China. Thay valued the ditch weed so it would hve had to sell for 2 dollars a cigarette. Drugs aren't good but the war on drugs is worse. Ditch weed isn't even a drug.
