i am currently re-reading Pharoahs and Kings. I bought a copy several years ago, read it and gave it to my father. I thought i would get it back... he like it too much.

After he died, i looked for it among his books but it was gone. I found another copy of this out of print book on half .com last month.

This sounds very similar to some of Velikovsy's assertions; that there was a several hundred year bust in the Egyptologists' chronology, and that resolving that lined up Biblical history with Ancient Egyptian records and documents to a surprising degree.

Egyptologists have said for years that there was no evidence that an independent Israel ever existed; correct the chronology, though, and the Biblical personages and events step out onto the stage in sharp focus.

I don't believe that Egyptologists have said anything of the sort. As a matter of fact, there is the dedication of Merneptah, a New Kingdom Pharoah who invaded the Middle East. He specifically mentions the Hebrews as a group he conquered.

But Pharoahs and Kings IS a great book with solid evidence presented to substantiate the author's theories. Velkovsky's books border on fiction.

To everyone else, David Rohl talked about the theories he put forth in "Pharaohs and Kings" at a seminar in Clearwater, FL, held in January of 2004. It was a delightful experience; I got to meet him there. The DVD of those lectures just came out last month, and is available on eBay for $49.95 plus shipping & handling. The seminar was put together by the St. Petersburg Theological Seminary and Cami McCraw, the moderator of the New Chronology group at Yahoo Groups; she and her husband Randy made the DVD.
