I wonder if this, or anything, could cause one the change one's view that this is evil and not a sickness

"It's a sickness" is just one beat of constant drum roll that we are being fed from the left to convince us that there is no evil, or right, or wrong. Increasing the level of horror does not ever cause it to move from "evil" to "sickness"

Years ago, someone escaped from a local mental hospital, and went running down the street of a nearby town, stabbing every one he could get, believing them to be space aliens or something.

He was sick. This guy is evil. So was Andrea Yates, and that eariler woman in South Carolina who drowned her kids.

Well, now that's trading one generalization for another isn't it? I say this after living in Arizona and constantly having to slow and go around 2-5 yr old hispanic children playing IN the street

I had this same experience in California -- and more than a few times. I wasn't overly impressed by the "devotion" either.

Not IN A RAVINE, but up on the brow of the cliff overlooking Lake and Town of Lake Elsinore, from the Ortega Mtns escarpment.

Ravine, side of road, top of mountain...in this area however...

Investigators search a rugged, heavily forested area on the edge of the Cleveland National Forest in Riverside County, Calif., early Wednesday, July 17, 2002, where the body of 5-year-old Samantha Runnion was found. The child was kidnapped Monday outside her apartment by a man who drove up and asked for help finding his dog. (AP Photo/Nick Ut)

Very reasonable doubt about the accuracy and/or relevancy of that. Junk science in some places. Brenda and Danielle would have same mtDNA and had both been in RV before...

It falls apart the closer you look at it, DW is not the perp, better look harder, look at more VD friends, houseguests, contacts, and this guy.

I agree with you and so do a bunch of other people I know. These bastards are too confident that they will either get away with it or they will get off (as this guy did before)or they will have a long time in jail. They need to fear the consequences. The psychologists and liberal lawyers have had their way with our justice system for too long.

Maybe its time we marched to our court houses with torches and pitchforks

Or we could give child rapists the death penalty. And actually enforce it.

In your mind, maybe. I doubt they'll think about that. To me, this is as pointless as the parent I know that blamed herself for the car accident she had in which her son was seriously injured and almost killed. They were hit head-on by a drunk driver, and this woman actually obsessed "if I had left five minutes earlier instead of wasting time looking for [some item or other], this would never have happened."

"by 6pm tonight, everyone in this country will know everything about this individual"

Is that next press conference at 6 Pacific or Eastern time?

I never saw anywhere west of the Blue Ridge (eastermost ridge of the Appalachians) where I would want to live. Fun to visit sometimes though.

Well, now that's trading one generalization for another isn't it?

Generalizations for minority groups are always ok, as long as they're positive. The moment they become negative - no matter how true they may be - that is when they become taboo.

I didn't realize that you were just posting a rant that wasn't suppose to be taken as a serious debate. You wanted to be heard, and left untouched with your sarcastic remarks, with out having to deal with any replies. You aren't the kind of guy that flips someone the bird then speeds away quickly in their car, are you?

What the f-k do you want?

What is your real stinking issue here? You really don't want to get me any more pissed off kitty.

Best go back to the litter box before I get real ugly.

If you can't stick to the issue here, why don't you get the hell out.

Jezzz....

My father was a forensic psychiatrist -- he testified in many capital murder cases as an expert witness for the prosecution. Every state, and the federal government, have somewhat different standards regarding pleas of "Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity."

Merely being "insane" whatever that is, usually does not satisfy the required burden of proof. In most states, the defense must demonstrate that the defendant was so impaired they could not distinguish between right and wrong when they committed the "act." Sometimes, it is a legitimate defense.

There were cases where my father testified that the defendant WAS, in fact, so ill they DID NOT know right from wrong.

In the majority of his cases though, it was his expert opinion they simply were mean, evil people. In private, to me he would confide they were just "mean SOBs."

His testimony was always persuasive, every jury he ever faced decided as he recommended.

A few defendants ultimately were executed. Unlike many psychiatrists, my father was not opposed to the death penalty. I don't believe he ever had any regrets when execution was the appropriate culmination of justice.

Irrespective whether the defendant was deemed to be "sick," my father always cared more for the victims than he did for the perpetrators.

Illbay, I've never been one to advocate inhumane treatment myself, although I do support the death penalty. But if there ever were a case where a guy should be kneecapped, castr--ed and left in the desert for the buzzards, this guy's the one.

We've basicly sent the message that people will be treated humanely and can expect to spend twenty years on death row. I will at least entertain the idea that it's time to treat some criminals with outright brutal thuggery for their attrocities. Once due process has been achieved over eighteen months or so, these guys should be killed by the most brutal and gruesome methods possible. At least I'm willing to entertain that prospect in the interest of sending a message. If it takes him a week or two to die, I might condone it. Think of me what you will, but these guys are getting off way too easy.

This guy was willing to send a message. "I don't care that you might catch me. I can take it." Okay, then let's dish out something the guy can't take. I'm sick to death of these acts on children.

Flowers and other gifts are left at a memorial honoring 5-year-old Samantha Runnion, Thursday, July 18, 2002, in Lake Elsinore, Calif. Samantha's body was found Tuesday in a mountainous ravine near this site. (AP Photo/Ric Francis)

Fres,
I'd much rather see a picture of the fairly convicted and appealed out perp, dangling upside down by his testicles. The death penalty works. It'd send the right message. But hey, that's just me.

I did not mean to imply that I would take pleasure in the acts. I would definately take pleasure hoping that the next perp might think long and hard before he got in line for the same treatment.
