Are you in favor of minors smoking?
It's amazing to see how readily the neoconservatives adopt the tactics of the liberals, isn't it. Can't tell em apart without a playbook anymore.

Lewis, whose home state of Connecticut, which just raised cigarette taxes 62 cents, has already lost $6.3 million in cigarette tax revenues this year. In a effort to bridge the budget gap a 62 cent increase was implemented.
Didn't work did it.
I wonder if Roland's mother is buying smokes in New Hampshire.

Sorry I asked. It won't happen again. I didn't realize that some questions were off limits - and that those who ask are to be considered liberals.

#17......... Matter of fact, here in Canada teen smoking was going down by 5% a year, smoking for teens just wasn't cool anymore, then the ANTI's kept smoking front and center 24-7, lo and behold the kids took up smoking in greater numbers, even my City Councillor agrees with me on that one. :-}
The very best way to keep teens from taking up the habit, was good education, and peer group pressure....... it was working...... until!!

"Right now, the law is pretty much being ignored," said Ribisl. "State tax authorities are just now trying to figure out how to handle the issue."
Differences between the Government and organized crime:
OC: When money changes hands, we get a cut.
Gov: When money changes hands, we get a cut...ok, nevermind that one.
OC: Pay us, and we will protect you.
Gov: Pay us, and we will protect you...hmmm, nevermind again.
OC: If you do not pay us, we will send our thugs to destroy your stuff.
Gov: If you do not pay us, we will send our thugs to take your stuff....OK, there it is, I knew there must be a difference somewhere...

I begin to regret not having chosen a criminal life. Our legislators never stop providing lucrative criminal opportunities.

That is a parental responsibility. Some parents approve, some don't. It is not a government responsibility, regardless. Children openly ordering cigarettes or any other "adult" product online is illegal. Most businesses use credit card holder requirement as a way to keep kids from ordering things. Kids with credit cards? Again, that is a parental responsibility--and a credit card company's fault.

#27...... LOL.

It is odd how the leftists think that talking about vice more (and spending money on it/or taking money out of it) will reduce the behavior. It's rather like my telling you NOT to think about pink elephants. At that moment, that's all you can think about. When will we learn that all the "awareness" raising simply leads to greater curiousity on the part of kids. Seemed we had fewer problems when vice was in the closet and given a badge of shame, rather than being celebrated and given victim status all day/everyday.

Actually your question was answered quite well in post 19.
Can you rebut that? (pun intended)
