President Bush submitted a formal outline for the proposed cabinet-level department of Homeland Security today in a brief ceremony outside the White House. Bush, joined by Vice President Cheney and members of Congress, called on both parties to work together to ensure that the future of America is safer than it was before September 11th. I sure wish I had one that said "I'm with DORK!" but this is the best I can come up with.
Old way was to pour box of salt on it, or flour, and cover with big lid to smother more.
New way: I have a fire extinquisher in the nook and in the dining room ready to grab. It's also nice to have extinquishers for Christmas tree safety and fireworks safety...like July 4, 2002, when we set fire to our neighbor's hedge with a spinner/screamer.
I was really glad I'd had the foresight to have bucket of sand, lawn hose, and fire extinquishers ready when that thing spun off the concrete driveway into the overgrown hedge.
Barney, raise your right, hind leg and...
Anyway - here is the Psalm for today and believe me it is my Psalm!! for today! God IS GOOD - and our Deliverer out of our trouble. I am a direct testimony witness to these truths - as are many of you. Sorry this is not very clear - my meds are kicking in. God bless each of you - and I will respond to individuals when I am able.
Psalm 34
The Happiness of Those Who Trust in God
A Psalm of David when he pretended madness before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he departed.
1 I will bless the LORD at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2My soul shall make its boast in the LORD;
The humble shall hear of it and be glad.
3Oh, magnify the LORD with me,
And let us exalt His name together.
4I sought the LORD, and He heard me,
And delivered me from all my fears.
5They looked to Him and were radiant,
And their faces were not ashamed.
6This poor man cried out, and the LORD heard him,
And saved him out of all his troubles.
7The angel[1] of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him,
And delivers them.
8Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good;
Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!
9Oh, fear the LORD, you His saints!
There is no want to those who fear Him.
10The young lions lack and suffer hunger;
But those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing.
11Come, you children, listen to me;
I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
12Who is the man who desires life,
And loves many days, that he may see good?
13Keep your tongue from evil,
And your lips from speaking deceit.
14Depart from evil and do good;
Seek peace and pursue it.
15The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous,
And His ears are open to their cry.
16The face of the LORD is against those who do evil,
To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
17The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears,
And delivers them out of all their troubles.
18The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart,
And saves such as have a contrite spirit.
To Lieberman: STEP AWAY from the PRESIDENT!
We liked it too. It reminded me of all the World War 2 movies I used to see when I was a kid. The scenery was nice too.
Maybe you'll be at the Bush Babes Bod A Thon tonight (is it tonight?) just to talk. Everyone here wishes you a quick recovery, and we all appreciate that even though you are not feeling up to par, you still take the time to post the Psalm for all to enjoy. Thanks, and blessings to you, Freedom!
