President Bush submitted a formal outline for the proposed cabinet-level department of Homeland Security today in a brief ceremony outside the White House. Bush, joined by Vice President Cheney and members of Congress, called on both parties to work together to ensure that the future of America is safer than it was before September 11th. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Yeah, it would be fun to wait and see who would disagree with Barney's "assessment" of the guy! LOL

Welcome back baseball mom. Couldn't help notice your desire for the 43 tshirt. I ordered mine by phone with credit card on Tues July 9 and it arrived today in time for me to wear on the beach at the resort hotel pool in South Padre Island Texas, aka THE VALLEY, aka THE RIO GRANDE VALLEY. I have to admit I was a little disappointed because I thought it had BUSH 43 but it doesn't it has

Happy Birthday. Wish I had some neat gif or something but I'm PC and "gif" challenged. So, sitting here, singing "Happy Birthday" to you will have to suffice. I hope it was a good one!

I did the same thing once with a pan that burst into flames when I removed the lid. Ever since then, I've had a fire extinguisher handy to the kitchen area. The smartest thing I could have done in my sad experience would have been to put the lid back on before removing the stinker to the outdoors, thereby depriving the fire of oxygen. But I had never had a spontaneous explosion kitchen fire before and I panicked. Live and learn!

UGH! My intention is to send back all the junk that was in the envelope and as much else as I can stuff in there to make it as heavy as possible ..... with a little "love note" ..... after all, he did enclose a postage paid reply envelope ...... hehe! Any parcel or letter that you don't open, you can take a big black magic marker (waterproof) and write in big letrers, "REFUSED: RETURN TO SENDER" on it.
Of course, that would obviate the opportunity to write your nastygramme to tuck inside, but it all depends on what exactly you want to say to the sender. ;-)

Oh...."REFUSED"....now THAT has a nice ring to it, in this case! --Good idea G EE

It's really fun to write REFUSED in bold black across one of those biggie envelopes. Does my widdle heart good from time to time. I also like taking a bold stroke through my name and address, without obscuring it, so there's no chance it gets back to me.
To: GretchenEE
Does the PO send this refused piece of ($*#!) mail back to the sender, or does it just discard it?
To: marylina
Answering own question: probably by law, the PO has to send the letter back to the sender.
To: Mo1
Yes, it is. Thanks...makes me laugh every time I see it.
To: marylina
My understanding is they send it back if it has a guaranteed return. The PO and the sender benefit because it's a message to the sender that you want off their mailing list, and the PO has the happy prospect of fewer junk mails to deliver. Sometimes it actually works, especially for organizations that try to keep costs down.
To: GretchenEE
Very interesting. Thanks!

With a little help from a friend............
(Special thanks to Brad'sGramma!)

You DID it! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And you even put words above and below. I'm very very very proud of you. If I could find my clapping hands, I'd stick them up here for you.

Check your mail, once again.

Thanks for the thread, Rintense. Missing the Barn and Spot and Laura-but glad, at least the unselfish part of me it glad, anyway, that they are all having a break from the cameras.
Our President's speeches just keep getting better and better. I was listening to PBS on car radio this afternoon and heard that CNN, MSNBC etc carried his speech a couple of days ago on the economy with insets of the DOW, Nasdeq and S&P graph lines going down as the President spoke. Tell ya what-made my blood boil a bit. My guess is that rally towards the end of the day disappointed some yucky liberals---can you even imagine that? I can.
Keep praying for our President with all of your hearts, folks. And our VP and their families and administration as well. Who can be against us if God is with us? I am SO PROUD of our President and so glad we have this thread to expound upon such feelings!!!
To: mtngrl@vrwc
Lookee here. Look at what Brad's Gramma helped me to do? Isn't it neat?
I'm now bleary-eyed from typing new words into yet another version of my resume. Sleep. I need some sleep.
G'night y'all. Bush Babes (and Bucks, of course) are just the bestest people.
