A Few of FR's Finest.....
......Every Day

FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues;  salute
and support our military and our leaders;  tell a few jokes;  learn a new
word;  write poetry;  pray for those in need;  and congratulate those who
are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which
we can express ourselves.

Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.  I
can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands
of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.

Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!

And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

Summertime!

Summer

If it's orange blossoms,  it's Florida,  and if it's Florida,  it's summertime,  and if it's summertime,  it's summer,  one of FR's Finest since June 13, 2000.

One look at summer's profile page,  and you know she is a person committed to keeping conservatives in office in Florida,  working tirelessly and endlessly,  writing numerous articles to educate the public about the Republican Governor,  Jeb Bush,   and to see that he is reelected.  She has written over a dozen different "The Jeb Bush Nobody Knows" threads for FR;  those links are on her profile page.   Do check them out if you're not familiar with them.

Summer is a Florida certified teacher,  and one of her favorite web pages for kids is this one:   Florida Office of the Governor Kid's Page .  It's brimming with both photos and information for kids,  parents,   and teachers everywhere!

This is not meant to embarrass summer,  but I've learned recently she has a Fan Club, and there is a Yahoo Web Site dedicated to her writing!  The President of that Fan Club
is a FReeper named Clemenza.

Way to go, summer! Thanks for all you do!

Afternoon, viligant! I hope you get a chance to go to the RiverWalk while you're in San Antonio. Of course, that may be where you're staying while there. It's just a nice, pleasant, pretty place to stroll/eat/have a cocktail or coffee. Many beautiful hotels right there, too, as well as restaurants and shopping.

John & David were both patients in a mental hospital.

One day they were walking past the hospital swimming pool and John suddenly dove into the deep end. He sunk to the bottom and stayed there.

David jumped in to save him. He swam to the bottom of the pool and pulled John out.

The medical director came to know of David's heroic act. He immediately ordered that David be discharged from the mental hospital as he considered him to be okay.

The doctor says, "We have good news and bad news for you, David!

The good news is that we are going to discharge you because you have regained your senses. Since you were able to jump in and save another patient, you must be mentally stable.

The bad news is that the patient whom you saved, John, hung himself in the bathroom and died."

David replied, "Doctor he didn't hang himself. I hung him there to dry."

Miss VC has been to San Antonio and raved about the river walk.

Unfortunately, most of my time will be spent inside the convention center supervising the set up of an exhibit. I do hope to visit the alamo and riverwalk.
