Everyone has a right to a fair trial. No they don't Sheesh! Gone off your meds again? When the evidence is so strong, the trial is a formality -- but a necessary formality -- otherwise hotheads like you would continue to erode trials by peers until no one got a trial -- just the town Taliban council passing sentence.

Right. Who cares how he is holding up. How is the girl holding up?

In the U.S. Constitution the founding fathers wrote in that anyone has a right to jury trial.
I can understand your outrage at this outrageous crime, but please don't trash our system of justice.
When they show that tape to the jury, those little dirty pigs will get theirs.

So, where is Maxine Waters? Where is Gloria Allred? Where are all the "hate crime" big mouths? Where are all the feminist groups? Why isn't the entire city marching around with "No Justice, No Peace" signs?

"He's perverted and pushy," she told The Register. "He tried to, like, do things with me that I didn't want to do." Arnold did not elaborate, but she did say she was surprised to hear Spann had been charged in the case..." Does anyone know a 15 year old boy who is permitted to date in this common culture who is not pushy and will not try to talk his 15 year old girlfriend into doing things she didn't want to do?? Is this really uncommon? I can remember some fast-talking 15 year old boys that I had to say no to. NO. It worked and I didn't date them again.

Drop them immediately - LOL

She's implying worse. She's implying that he is pushier than other boys.
More to the point, she's implying that he won't take no for an answer.

The only justice for these 3 sick bastards will be when they themselves get raped in prison. The only difference is that they wont have the pleasure of being drugged.
Have fun boys

I don't think she is implying that he wouldn't stop. In these sensitized days she would have not been surprised that he was implicated in a rape if she was talking about the fact that he was hard to stop.

They drugged a girl and raped her, they should be put in a room, doped up and released to a 300 pound man to have his way with. Forget about doping him up, it'd be better if he were conscious..

I suspect that they are all going to find out what it is like to be on the other side of a gang rape during the next few years in prison.

Those were two statements about two different boys. The first part was about Haidl, the second part about Spann.

The boys should be locked up for what they did to this girl, but I do have a question. What is the legal age of consent here? I know the girl was raped, but if she does not press charges, is there an actual case? I ma not trying to get flamed here, just curious.

If she was drugged, I doubt she could consent.

Exactly. The article plays up the fact that the 17 year old is a "model" teen and holding up as well as can be expected. They are trying to turn the rapist into a victim.
Where have we seen that tactic used successfully before?
I guess since it falls outside the boundaries of his school work, it should remain a private affair.

I know she was raped, but if she chooses to not press charges I can't see where there would be a case against the boys. All of whom deserve a very long stint in closed quarters.

I think there are some crimes that are prosecuted despite the wishes of the victim. Domestic violence is one- a police officer will arrest an individual for violence against a partner even though the victim may not want to press charges.
Since rape is a felony, the victim may not have any say in the matter. I'm curious as to why she wouldn't press charges though. Really odd.
