A Bush Hater's Poll
Jim Robinson

Posted on 07/10/2002 11:27:06 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

This is an unofficial quick and dirty presidential poll. Apparently, there is a good sized contingent on Free Republic that believes that President Bush is:

  1. Not conservative enough
  2. Not pro-life
  3. Is a gun-grabber
  4. Is a federal power-grabber
  5. Will appoint liberal judges
  6. Is a globalist
  7. Is in it just for oil
  8. Is too soft on immigration
  9. Is too soft (or too hard) on Israel
  10. Is a crook
  11. All of the above
  12. None of the above
  13. Other (you name it)

Please list the numbers that best match the reasons you don't like Bush (or state other reasons if not on the list) and state whether you believe that President Bush should be defeated even if it means installing a Democrat in the Whitehouse.

Conversely, if you believe President Bush should be re-elected, please state why.

Please state who you would like to see win the Presidency in 2004 and whether or not you believe he/she has a chance of winning.

Thanks,
Jim

"Yup, you got it. If the most conservative hard-line republican alive today was running for President, he'd probably get creamed."

Bull$hit. Nothing could be farther from the truth. There has only been one conservative that lost at a national level and that was Goldwater. Goldwater was defeated by the media. One of my friends whose father was a governor, had a brother who was a US Senator and has a brother-in-law who is a currently a US Senator told me a story of trying to personally place an add for Goldwater in the LATimes. The Times refused to take the add without cash for payment. This person hand carried the cash, not a check, to the Times to place the add. The LATimes still refused to run the add. The media attack on Goldwater was the worst I have ever seen in my lifetime. And the campaign was lost before Goldwater ever got out of the box because of the hydrogen bomb commercial with the little girl.

Reagan is the only person to campaign during my lifetime as a conservative. He won two landslide elections. As for Congress, Republicans lost 35 out of 37 elections between 1932 and 1994. The only time Republicans actually ran on a conservative agenda was 1994 and they won by an unmistakeably large margin.

Republicans can win on conservative issues; the problem is they never try. They want to try to take votes from Democrats. It doesn't work, they lose the conservative votes and they lose the election.

By the same token, if a RINO wins, how does it actually help restore the Constitution. The Constitution and conservative values are not going to be restored by people not willing to run on a platform that supports restoration of the Constitution. And the Constitution will especially not be restored by the people who are embarrassed to stand by its principles or those who trample on it almost every time a vote is taken in Congress.

And if you are right and I am wrong, then if we cannot save the United States as it was promised to us in the Constitution, then why save it at all? It is the freedom we had under the Constitution that made the United States great. The United States still has the potential to recover what it has lost, but only if we stand up and demand it. I am tired of begging Republicans and other Americans. Either we recover what we lost or dissolve the union and create our own Republic. It won't be us that starts the shooting. And I don't think the socialists will have the nerve.

I'd have to say #'s 4, 8, & 9. I'd have to see who else is running in 2004 before I pick, though.

Once again ... if the foreign nationals are working to support themselves and their families, they are not going to automatically vote Democrat. We need to prohibit Democrat pirates from giving our tax money to those who live and move here ILLEGALLY! The welfare dependent vote Democrat. The Democrats spent 8 years making illegally resident foreign nationals welfare dependents! Let's GET TOGETHER FOR ONCE to identifyh and kill every program in every school district, city, county and State that underwrites the basic life needs of illegally resident citizens who can't work or contribute to our thang. Let's wipe them out!!!! You wanna pay for a Somali or disabled undocumented Mexican national to have schooling, food stamps and preventative health care for his wife and three children? I DON'T. Let's grab the torches and storm the castle. Nobody can justify this giveaway. They snuck it by us good folks

That's the path to reclaiming our land. It's not easy, it's not immediate but it's clear. To me at least.

If something is worth conjuring emotion and outrage to document here, it's worth finding the people and strategy that can solve your problem. SHAZAAAAMM Floyd! That means ... quit bitching here, bitch to people who can adress and remedy your grievance. THEY'RE NOT HERE!!!! Quit yanking it on our dime.

They changed the face of Republican party in a good way, but since then the party has beaten them down and the party no longer represents the principles on which they won office and the Republicans won Congress.

You think it's more reasonable to try to change the world than to try to change the Republican Party?

I don't understand the concept of not becoming part of the GOP on a grassroots level and changing "the party." Starting with your precinct! If you can't do that, how can you chnge the whole entire country?

But you can't do that w/o voting majorities. 78% Gore voters are never going to vote to end their entitlements. Bush *barely* won in 2000 as it is. Do you really think the pubbies will end entitlements if it means they'll be demonized as the party of 'selfish rich people' even more? Since Prop 187(or 189) in CA was overturned, CA is sadly being added to the 'lost forever' column. A once strong pubbie voting bastion is now decidedly in the dim column. It would take a miracle at this point for any pubbie to win office in CA (I'm still praying for Simon btw). I'm not going to give up however. The pubbies in NJ spent 8 years under ChristieWitless busting the budget giving away lots of stuff and were soundly defeated by McGreevey when Schundler started talking 'personal responsibility'. I agree with you FWIW about the welfare giveaways. Unfortunately too many pubbies in NJ are the 'go along to get along' type that ensure the dims always 'out Santa Claus' them in the long run. The poor will always vote the Santa Claus party. Always. This is why I think #8 is a big bugaboo that will bite the pubbies in the keister sooner rather than later.

I am however, willing to listen to any concrete plans you have to end this travesty...

No. 12, with the possible exception of No. 8. Bush is a "globalist," in the good sense of the word, and I'm damn glad about it.

Seventy years is enough patience. When should we expect progress?

Well, if you've been waiting for 70 yrs, I can understand you're impatient but I don't see how we could make it happen in a day's time without suspending elections- all those lefties and liberals and traditional dems still get to vote and they're the ones voting in the socialists. I don't expect Bush to be on national television any time soon asking us to throw out the 14th Ammendment or anything like that- if that's what you mean. Right now, the battle is for the hearts and minds of America. If we don't win the hearts and minds of the people that vote- we ain't never going to accomplish squat.

1.) Blanket one year amnesty for every foreign national who has an expired mandate or illegally entered the U.S. No arrests for immigration status. Amnesty requires presentation, documentation and identification of each individual. 2.) Every special status immigrant promises to not avail themselves any local, city, county, State or Federal assistance. None. NO FRICKING WELFARE ANYWHERE. 3.) The U.S. will aid all amnesty participants in their movements back to their native land. 4.) After a date certain - 4 months from amnesty - any foreign national found in violation of U.S. immigration law will serve 20+ years in a American Federal Prison, or in a maximum security Prison in their native county . 20 years minimum. Any American immigrant or church group found trafficking in illegal immigration will expose its officers to the same penalty.

Temporary visitor visas will be streamlined and supported so family members can easily vistit legally resident foreign nationals. All movement will proceed through border crossings and supervised and regulated.

State Drivers bureaus and identification agencies will be directed to issue specially designed documentation that easily identifies resident foreigners and lists their status and time restraints.

Counterfit SS, drivers license and passport syndicates here and abroad will be relentlessly compromoised and destroyed. Trafficking in counterfit IDs will be a 30 year mandatory felony rap in maximum security shitholes. Black market dealers, civil servants AND those who are diplomatic visitors.

Rental Car Agencies, Airlines, Banks, Apartment Rental Agents and Employers will note and report their transaction with every special status foreign national they encounter.

Document the Hoarde. Yank the welfare teat COMPLETELY from special status resident visitors. Streamline and computerize the immigration process. Employ procedures in commercial transactions that will reveal illegally resident foreigners. Severely sanction those who move illegally thourgh our territory after the amnesty. Severely sanction educational institutions that ignore the status of foreign students Crush the counterfit ID racket ... I mean steamroll it NOW. Stuff the Passport pirates in Arab capitals. Fingerprint and other ID mandates for visitors.

It's a plan, and I think it will work.

Except that the state with the largest illegal immigrant problem, CA, has ruled that withholding benefits from illegals is unconstitutional.

And me also. Get rid of the welfare state, punish those that hire illegals and the majority of illegals will leave on their own, as there would be no benefit to be here.

Number 8, possibly.

Realizing that any president will spend his first 2 years in the oval office countering the previous administration's influence and building his own government infrastructure, I have to give President Bush very high marks.

First he was prevented at the time of his election to set up his WH takeover.

Second, He did remarkably well with the tax cuts, which would have gone further, except for 9/11.

Third, he kept a campaign promise to try to change the tone in DC. The education bill which was opposed by the teacher's union was a tough nut.

Fourth, the Sept 11 attack turned everything upside down. I think his response and the success has been underplayed. With the decimated intelligence agencies and the depleated military he preformed better than anyone could have expected.

Fifth, he has warned over and over that this is going to be a long war in which we may not always see results due to national security issues. His stance on a Palistinian state is realistic. There needs to be a free Palistinian State set up as a democracy. His threats against Saddam are not hollow. I believe when he makes his move it will be all but accomplished before we hear about it. His expansion of this war on terror will go on until it is under control..I doubt that it will be anywhere near concluded in my lifetime, definately not during his presidency.

Sixth, His handling of the Corporate Malfeasence will be adequate. There are laws enough but they need to be enforced. The economy is doing well. The stock market is not an indicator of the state of the economy.

Seventh, he is definately pro life, anti UN.

So far I am impressed with his administration and will wait to see how it plays out. If he is re elected he will be in an even better position to fulfill his plans for a stong America and the end of global terrorism. He is plagued with anti-Americanism fostered by the left and constant attacks. Fortunately, I think he is up to it. Those who doubt his intelligence are in for lots of surprises.

Those who would vote for a third party and leave the Clinton infrastructure in place so that another Democrat may be able to win are self defeatists. Taking over the Senate and the House is imperative, then we can get onto business. If he is to lose the 2004 election, there will be another 8 year Democratic regime and possibly again in 2012 because the corrupt Clinton bunch will still be in control.

I will vote a straight Republican ticket!

Dude, you need to get a grip.

This is a conservative political discussion group on the Internet, called Free Republic, run out of California, United States of America, Planet Earth, Milky Way galaxy.

It is July 11, 2002, in the afternoon where I am.

First: I am GOP. I am going to work for the reform of the GOP, in my own small way.

Second: You are abandoning your principles way too soon. Read Washington's Farewell Address. He anticipated this very year in American politics. He anticipated when a critical mass of Americans will have flirted with abandoning the Constitution. He knew it would be a constant, uphill battle with RINOs and Rats. He knew.

Third, ponder how much Washington and the Continentals suffered to establish the United States, against much greater odds than big mouthed, communist noodle-spines like Daschle, Gephardt, Dan Rather, etc., etc.,... they had REAL DIFFICULTIES and sacrifices to make...to survive, to establish the Constitution, and to constantly guard against its enemies. We have it WAY EASY, TOO EASY by comparison.

Fourth and most important, ponder how many millions of Americans have been actually killed defending the CONSTITUTION. Millions. Ponder that everyone from a private in the Army to the POTUS takes a brief OATH of OFFICE, ordained by the CONSTITUTION, to "PRESERVE, PROTECT, AND DEFEND" the Constitution.

NO OTHER COUNTRY IS LIKE THAT!!!

Far from fluff and philosophical hairsplitting, the Constitution (i.e., the basis of conservative Republican principles) is what MADE a very small outpost on the edge of the world, into a moon-walking, ridiculously wealthy, dream world, far and away the greatest country in the Universe, in only 226 years.

Do you know what the time course is of other nations?

Do you know how we stack up against, say, China, in terms of rapidity of progress and in progress in implementing Christian and Republican principles?

You totally take for granted what a gem this country is, or otherwise, you wouldn't give up so easily.

THIS despair on your part is widespread, and it is why I am so concerned about our RINO-IN-CHIEF.

Because he utterly disregards the Constitution, in ways great and small, after conning me into believing he would "Preserve, Protect, and Defend"...it.

(He did say those words, didn't he? Were they just philosophical fluff, too, like the foolishness I believe?)

And OUR PARTY, THE GOP, (which he pretends to belong to) is charged with preserving the Constitution, and has been so charged since its creation at the time of POTUS Lincoln.

The Rats are out of it, they are as contemptuous of the Constitution as Communists. The Libertarians disregard the BIBLICAL and other philosophic underpinnings that ARE THE BASIS of the Constitution, and the other parties (Taxpayer, etc.,) are too small yet to rule.

We have but one choice, and that is the GOP.

And I am not going to smile and praise Bush's actions if I feel he is utterly squandering my and my children's legacy, our birthright, our inheritance: an INTACT, TRUE, POTENT, and VIABLE Constitution, OBSERVED AS WRITTEN, IN ENGLISH, WITH WORDS THAT MEAN EXACTLY TODAY WHAT THEY MEANT IN 1787, and not twisted, bastardized, and broken by liars, Rats, RINOS, socialists, and other assorted scum.

I am likewise not going to sit idly by, smiling, while he gives the country away to illegal aliens who hate America and Americans as much as anyone, and who are here ONLY to take advantage of our hard-earned wealth and our natural kindness, then vote Rat to take all of it away from my children.

And the above SICKENS me because Bush personally wants Swiss-cheese borders so that HE, PERSONALLY, can have four more years as a pampered, wealthy, phony, at the public expense.

Bush could care less about America and the Constitution, he really only cares about getting reelected.

And you are free to help raise opposition to the hijacking of the Constitution, in whatever way you see fit, or you can sit there and pity yourself and attack people like me who tell it like it is, whether or not it makes others happy.

Regards, caddie.
