A Bush Hater's Poll
Jim Robinson

Posted on 07/10/2002 11:27:06 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

This is an unofficial quick and dirty presidential poll. Apparently, there is a good sized contingent on Free Republic that believes that President Bush is:

  1. Not conservative enough
  2. Not pro-life
  3. Is a gun-grabber
  4. Is a federal power-grabber
  5. Will appoint liberal judges
  6. Is a globalist
  7. Is in it just for oil
  8. Is too soft on immigration
  9. Is too soft (or too hard) on Israel
  10. Is a crook
  11. All of the above
  12. None of the above
  13. Other (you name it)

Please list the numbers that best match the reasons you don't like Bush (or state other reasons if not on the list) and state whether you believe that President Bush should be defeated even if it means installing a Democrat in the Whitehouse.

Conversely, if you believe President Bush should be re-elected, please state why.

Please state who you would like to see win the Presidency in 2004 and whether or not you believe he/she has a chance of winning.

Thanks,
Jim

It's Official: Illegal Aliens Won't Be Deported

Ziglar clearly states that the INS will not round up the illegal population, because it's impractical. Enforcing the law is not impractical, it's his duty.

Since Ziglar publicly stated he will not enforce the law, which he was appointed to do and took an oath to do, and he was not removed by Bush, who appointed him, the logical conclusion can be made that Bush agrees.

I'm sure you won't see this logical conclusion.

"I just worry that the reason I will never get what I want is that I keep giving the GOP what they want ( my vote ) with very little in return."

Thats exactly where so many of us are at. And our number is growing. It isn't we Conservatives who will lose the election, it will be GWB deserting his Conservative base. Don't let them bait you into thinking its our fault.....same tactic the Dims use.

By allowing the illegals to stay, you are advocating further illegal actions and disrespecting those who are waiting and following the law.

So we go through neighborhoods and round up people and boot them out. Like it or not these people are here to stay. Immigration has always been a contentious issue in America since her founding, look at the history and posters of "Irish need not apply". America has benefitted from immigrants and will do so in the future.

I was not defending the Agency, just the troops on the ground. If I had my way, everyone from the GS-13 grade and up would be replaced.

Unlike many here on Free Republic, I try not to use a large brush to paint my pictures.

Well, I was prtetty sure that Texas went for Bush in a big way. Is this issue going to spoil it for Bush in Texas?

Your assignment is to write "Illegal" 8,000,000 times.

I'm neither a Bush-hater nor a 'Bush-bot', Jim, but as long as you brought it up...

13. He's allowing the War on Terror to be orchestrated by career-oriented chickens.

I'd also have to agree somewhat with Item #8, too.

Seems to me that over 100 million votes were counted for just the top two candidates

That's because of all the FRAUD, illegals, double, triple, quad, voting. The voter registration is not purged. Probably 1/2 the people on any voter registration are legitimate, if that high. Rest have moved, are dead, duplicates, made up names, illegals, etc.

3,4,8

3- Not a gun grabber but a double speaker. He agrees it's an individual right, but not a right that cannot be infringed. He needs to recognize our rights are granted from God and not whomever is in the whitehouse at the time. For instance, the struggle over arming pilots should be an unquestionable given.

4- Patriot Act, maybe not where you live, but in a local paper here, someone has already been labeled a domestic terrorist. Watch tonights fox news on mutiple police abuse and tell me giving them that much power it wont be abused. Also see 8 below

8- I've said it before on here and I'll say it again, if this administration believed a weapon of mass destruction were going to be smuggled into this country, then you would see the military on the borders yesterday. And if they had one, it would go off in Israel, not here. So, let's have open borders and constantly say the threat exists so we can pass any law we want, the majority just goes right along with the illogic of it. My family will no longer vote to block someone, ie. as in Gore. From now on, we will vote for what we feel is right, and our lean now is toward the constitution party over the others. It will be the first time I haven't voted republican.

Finally, yes, I'm glad Bush is in at the moment over Clinton or Gore.

... and no, I don't think he needs to be defeated in 2004.

That could change, of course.

I have to go with number 4 BUT with the qualifier that much of my complaint has to do with things that were done in response to 9/11 and as such it's hard to really gig him on it. Especially seeings how the Congress shares much of this blame. I guess, number 4, but tentatively and this complaint is against the gov't as a whole.

I think George W Bush needs to get reelected. Not just because the other side gets elected if not- but because I believe Dubya is a strong leader and he is slowly getting this ship turned around and going in the right direction. We're not going to undo all of Clinton's mischief in four years because it's more than a matter of just changing laws- it's changing the people's attitudes.

A lot of young people in America today have only ever known Clinton for a President for their whole lives (that they really remember or cared about). They were told this entire time that the GOP were a bunch of racists and Nazis and all kinds of other vile crap. It's going to take some time for us to turn that around and it's going to take a strong Republican to do that, and a clever one. People like Bush, that's a start. We need to get him reelected and America will have time to grow a new generation of teens/young adults that have only ever known Bush and then his Vice President (Condi hopefully) when she gets elected. We need to control the future of the Supreme Court (that is a huge bastion to keep and hold) and we need to take back the Senate and we NEED to reelect this President.

Bottom line, we're not going to be able to go straight to a land that most conservatives would be happy with overnight- it's going to be an arduous journey filled with many long battles that will wear us down- but we can never let up if we want to get where we want to be. People should be patient.

guy died of TB

It was my understanding that AIDS patients and American alcoholic/drug addicts/"homeless" were more of a risk in terms of spread of resistent TB than illegal aliens (which is not to say that illegal aliens don't present real health risks in terms of disease, including food infection.)

Do you have any more information?

With the exception of Tancredo for President, all I've seen on this thread is more of the same armchair quarterbacking and whining about President Bush, while giving few legitimate alternatives. This goes for conservatives as well as the disruptors you were looking for. Are you sure you didn't title this thread "If I were President, I would ______ "?

Your ignorance of law enforcement of obvious.

We don't need to go out and do mass round ups in the neighborhoods. Just enforce the laws on the books, cut off benefits that cost the tax payer millions each year, and the jobs will disappear and the majority of the llegals will leave on there own. The rest congregate in public areas that the Commissioner and President have put off limits to the INS.

I'm all for LEGAL immigration, and if we need more people then increase LEGAL immigration. I guess criminal activity is OK in your book.
