Not one reported asked about what I thought was the most important part of the president's statement : that the Senate won't pass funding for the military and it's going to run out of funds....3502 people dead in this country due to terrorists...we are at war...and all most of them care about is Harken and Pitt. Because the ONLY thing the Liberal media cares about is making the President look bad
They could care less if Americans die or not

Osama is dead and Bush knows for a fact. He'll reveal it at the appropriate time I feel this way too, however once the information is released then all the bleeding hearts will demand us out of the entire mid east and we will get a whole new wave of terror on our shores before Bush's 8 years are up.
To: Howlin
Oh, was mine there, too???
That can be arranged.
To: RobFromGa
I disagree, he has a military justification for not mentioning his demise.

Darlin, that would take a lifetime to show their hypocrisies. It's important that the President came out and dealt with these issues. The President is being portrayed as some Corporate Bigwig with no care in the world for the little man.
I think the President did well. In order to fund half of the stupid programs that we have for the little man, we need a strong economy.
It would be nice if organizations like the NAACP would encourage their members to get off their rear ends and make a useful contribution to America. However, I'm daydreaming about that issue. Keep in mind that most of the "little" people that the Democrats are worried about couldn't tell you the difference between Wall Street and Broadway. Also, keep in mind that the true losers are the shareholders and workers. However, do you believe that we should pay compensation? Hell no!

This is one of the reasons he's not saying anything.

In case you haven't figured out the dynamic of press conferences yet, there really IS a reason, other than rank stupidity, why these bozos seem to all ask the same question sequentially. And that reason is the evening news shows, and how they're put together.
Each network reporter is under standing orders to get the President's answer to that reporter's question. It doesn't matter if someone else asked that question - the network wants a shot of ITS reporter asking the question and the Prez answering it. This is so they can say in the setup that "President Bush today said, when questioned by NBC's David "Lurch" "Ratface" Gregory, that...yadayadayada." They then cut to Gregory asking the question and Bush answering it. This is how it's done. It is NOT fair game to ask a question and then use the Prez's answer to another question posed by another reporter. They kill each other over stuff like this.
So, if the net wants a particular Q&A, THEIR guy has to get the question asked AND the Prez has to answer it. They can use another answer ONLY if they shift gears and refer to a different question.
So, while they're trying to catch him in some inconsistency, what they're REALLY doing is striving for face time - THEIR guy asking the Prez "the question." Watch them this evening. EVERY network news show will have this in one of their top 2 stories, and every net will have their own reporter asking the same question and getting the same answer from Bush. This is why presidents don't just answer a given question once and then hammer the other loonies into the ground when THEY ask the same question. They understand that the guys in the room are, at least partially, acting under orders.
Helen Thomas, of course, is not covered by the above. She's the one who will ask, after all the fur has flown, if he can recall being on Harkin's board. Sad.

You are so right!
Harkin must have been the subject of clinton talking point memo of the day! The press corps by and large are so obvious that they support the DNC agenda and the clintons!
Looks like Jim Angle from Fox and some foreign correspondents don't get the same memo as CBS, et al of the press corps. They (Jim Angle and a few others) sound like professionals with their ability to ask their own questions instead of the ones from DNC and the clintons.

Or even worse, an end to the war on terrorism.

I do not think he is above politics, but I also don't think he would delay this announcement till October 2004 as an election crutch...
If there are national security reasons to withhold the info, I might buy that (but the Media Whores won't) but I don't believe that Bush will make use of the info for purely political reasons...
Mr. Naive, signing off...

The reason McCain doesn't switch parties is that in the Democratic party he would not be a 'maverick', or 'principled'. The media would no longer flock to him when they had other, better, Democrats to deal with. Kerry is the Democratic leader on the military (yuck), Kennedy on education, etc. There would not be a natural niche for McCain.
