Not one reported asked about what I thought was the most important part of the president's statement : that the Senate won't pass funding for the military and it's going to run out of funds....3502 people dead in this country due to terrorists...we are at war...and all most of them care about is Harken and Pitt.
PLEASE, God, let this come back and bite the left-wing media, IN THE REAR, VERY HARD!!!!

Here's what I want to know: How many of the Dems who are presently bashing the Prez voted against that legislation offered in '98 or '99 that would have toughened up the regs on accounting firms? Maybe we should start a Hall Of Shame, and remind them of their hsitory whenever they open their yaps.

there can be honest disagreements on how to figure some transactions? If financial reporting were not filled with ambiguity then CPA's could be replaced by a microsoft product.
The environment, the industry, the users all difer. In addition the nature of transactions can differ based on intent and information that is not available until later.

I keep hearing from different sources that campaign donations by CEO'as to DNC or different RATS would keep the SEC investigators off their backs. YEP .. I'm thinking we might learn alot of things if they end up in court

. . . it will come out that he had known about it for over two and a half years. No, it will come out that he had known about it for 2.5 minutes before he shared this important piece of information with the American public.

Bush is a man of charater, if he KNEW that OBL was wormfood, he'd say it now IMHO...The danger of anyone playing politics with this type of info is great...didn't Bubba bomb an aspirin factory to divert attention? withholding info for "the right time" would be wrong...
To: cake_crumb
And you are right, that WAS the most important question of the MONTH!

The Democrats were out all weekend and all day trying for the lead in tonight's news. Mid-day the President pops a news conference and prempts the new of the day. Brilliant.

I highly doubt the evening news will even play a quote from the press conference itself UNLESS it deals with corporate issues and the media will ignore everything else.
It makes me so freaking angry.

You are way off base. You forget he also became the first president to fully back the creation of a Pallie state.
It is slowly spliting the Pallies into those who truly want to coexist with Israel in their own state and those who are frauds.....and define occupation as Israel itself.
I believe what is needed is a Pallie/Arab civil war to eliminate the Arab radicals......Bush's tactics may just lead to a healthy purging of the Arab leadership by Arabs.

After that newsidiot asked the NAALCP question, didja see President Bush turn his head away, and then back again and give him "the look"? Man, it was priceless!

I am a big fan of George W. Bush, but if you think he's above politics you are terribly naive. You don't get to where he is by being a nice, amiable guy.
Besides, there is a good reason NOT to make this announcement today. The Bush administration has to be very concerned that an announcement of bin Laden's death might trigger larger, more widespread attacks.
