As many of you may already know, Fellow Freeper Texana_RED's home was washed away in the devastating floods that are hitting Texas right now. Some of you may have seen video of a house in Kerrville floating downstream, then hitting a tree, and disintegrating. That was Texana_RED's home. Some of you may have seen an interview showing a woman on televison pointing to her red pickup truck which was lodged in a tree. That was Texana_RED. She literally got out with her pajamas, with 2 of her dogs. She lost the rest of her pets, and all the contents of her house, and workshop.
Some of you may have met Texana marching around the Governor's mansion after the election, or at the Freeper Inaugural Ball.
With Jim Robinson's gracious permission, I am being allowed to bring this Freeper in Distress Call to your attention. If you would like to send a donation to help, please check the Texas Chapter Board, or Freepmail Sockmonkey or Anymouse.

Can you do your Texas-sized ping on this thread, please.
I had some major hard drive problems and can't get to my Texas ping
list right now. But I'll go to the Texas FReepers profile site and
reconstruct a list via copy and paste for ya. Be back in a little bit!
To: Sabertooth
How about using your ping list with the nice sabertooth?

This is a terrible thing, sockmonkey. Now........let me ask: Can you get specific, immediate needs from/for her? Was she insured? We need to prioritize what we must do, I think.........although cash will always help, no doubt. Just let us all know...................and tell 'er God bless, ok????
To: deport
There sure is a lot of destruction -- hard to imagine that much rain.
Having lived in Boerne for almost 8 years before being transferred up here, the kids and I know quite a few people still there. My son's best friend called late last night to say that all of my son's friends were okay.

Want some help with the list?
To: sockmonkey
I would do an AZ list, but I think many of us have donated to the displaced families from the forest fires. What do you think?
To: Angelique
I would do an AZ list, but I think many of us have donated to the displaced families from the forest fires. My sister lost her house in those fires, but at least she was insured and will be able to replace just about everything but the personal pictures, etc. I don't know Texana_RED's insurance situation, but I would be happy to help financially.
If someone will post an address, I'll shoot a check off today.

How kind of you. I think there is an address posted on the thread.
That is wonderful that your sister had insurance. From what I have heard on the news, many did not. Back home in CA, we could not even get earthquake insurance.

In Aug 1967 I was flooded out, lost everything... In Dec 1969 I was burned out with the same result...
I can tell you from personal experience that ALL help is appreciated, but, the thing in shortest supply is MONEY. If every freeper sent just 10.00 Texana would be on her way to recovery, after all she knows more than anybody what she needs worst..
Come on people, this is one of our own...

If you can't help out financially, I'm sure that prayers and some ping lists would be appreciated. I don't know whether or not she had flood insurance. If she didn't, she's lost everything.
