Freeper in Distress Bump

As many of you may already know, Fellow Freeper Texana_RED's home was washed away in the devastating floods that are hitting Texas right now. Some of you may have seen video of a house in Kerrville floating downstream, then hitting a tree, and disintegrating. That was Texana_RED's home. Some of you may have seen an interview showing a woman on televison pointing to her red pickup truck which was lodged in a tree. That was Texana_RED. She literally got out with her pajamas, with 2 of her dogs. She lost the rest of her pets, and all the contents of her house, and workshop.
Some of you may have met Texana marching around the Governor's mansion after the election, or at the Freeper Inaugural Ball.
With Jim Robinson's gracious permission, I am being allowed to bring this Freeper in Distress Call to your attention. If you would like to send a donation to help, please check the Texas Chapter Board, or Freepmail Sockmonkey or Anymouse.

Bumping this thread is a big help, my friend. All of us might not be in a position to help financially right now but each time we bump the thread it enables someone else to see it ..... someone who might be able to help ..... :-)

Are Money Orders better than checks? They are better than checks because the bank looks at them just like cash. A check deposited may be held for 10 days to make sure it clears, which means you don't have access to it for that long.

Guido, please explain again how we can get the address to help out. Thanks!
To: GUIDO
Sorry sockmonkey, meant post 142 for someone else.
How is your weather there? The sun has been out since 3pm this afternoon. Hot and humid just like it should be after a rain but at least it is not raining.

The best way to get it is to freepmail sockmonkey. anymouse had a good point not to post her address because of the disrupters that may get the address and start hate mailing her etc... I will get it for you and freepmail you. I need to write it down anyway so I can mail it off tomarrow.

Just remember the "Widow's mite". Jesus said that she had given more than the others, because she gave out her small posessions, while they gave out of plenty.

As I recall, Texana_Red and I had a bit of a disagreement when she first came on board here at Free Republic. It would be a pretty boring site without such disagreements and we reached an understanding. Although I'm from Illinois I have a really fat ping list (old-timers call it a "volley flag" list) and I shall put it to good use for Texana_Red.
Stand by for volley fire, Capt. Kayak.

Sockmonkey is going to be out of town for about a week starting this weekend, so if you don't get a response from her, FReepmail me, Anymouse instead and I'll FReepmail back TexanaRed's address.

Volley flag ... FIRE!
... CEASE FIRE! Chambers open, weapons down!
Sorry about any duplicate flags!
Sometimes the burdens of life
are too much to bear alone
and we need our Freeper friends. Would everyone please Freepmail
Sockmonkey for the address and send
whatever you can afford by money
order. Every little bit will help.

Freepmail me the address and that way I could take some of the burden of responding off of your shoulders. Then some of these people could freepmail me for the address.

Happy to help a little bit, Capt. Kayak. She's a special lady. Polite, but she knows how to stand her ground with a Neanderthal like me.

They are better than checks because the bank looks at them just like cash. I know. It was kind of a rhetorical question. A lot of people were talking about sending checks, and nobody had mentioned sending money orders instead, or why.
