Living up here in OR, I hadn't seen Hahn before. How did he get elected? I have seen more impressive street sweepers. Yes sir, round up all those guns and the world will be safe! He can't possibly get reelected, can he?

...Sounds more like his turban was screwed on too tight....

Look people...there are few or none of us on this thread who DIDN'T expect something to happen today. Me PERSONALLY...I know that 7/4 is not a numerolgically significant date, and expected no major attack today, but I WAS fully expecting some wingnut to pull something....

Obviously, he did.

I am relieved to know that so many of us are on point again....

What are the odds of a major attack occurring again this week? Slim to none. It is only when we, the American people, either relax or are stupidly and deliberately blind, that these attacks can succeed.

At the moment, the US government has more faith in the objectivity of it's citizens than it does in it's own LEO'S. In truth, it has good reason. Let's ignore the nuts...and, as the only first line of defense that we really have, let's try not to let us down.

KABC 7 reporting LAPD "Citywide Tactical Alert has been cancelled... going to a "Modified Tactical Alert"

One terminal shut down at LAX, plus entire upper level... traffic will be worse than hellish

Exactly. Thank God for the presence of that gun.

These folks in charge in LA are looking like some real dumbasses right now trying to spin something that sure smells like terrorism isolated or not into something that appears more benign from a PR perspective. And the attack on too many guns around was beyond the pale. What a bunch of losers.

Did anyone see the WND report that said July 4 *is* a date that could be numerologically significant? I found it yesterday morning and then it was gone late yesterday afternoon.

Apparently Saladin had one of his great victories against the Crusaders in 1397 or so on July 4.

Same story mentioned that September 11 was significant numerologically because a Congressional resolution passed on Sep. 11 1922 called for the partition of Palestine and creation of an Israeli state (pointed out Bin Laden talked about the 80 years the US had oppressed the Palestinians or Arab world after Sep 11)

Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We can't have those things any more with islam radicals and their counterparts living in Amerika in our communities.

Bush supporter yes, but I also want the truth because I can take it. If I am told one more time to "celebrate" I'll flip. We are at war.

I am with reverence remembering all who have died including those today, this 4th of July, definitely not celebrating. God Bless the America our forefathers established, not what it's become.

You'll just be so glad to be off the aircraft that you won't even care about potential contamination. ;-)

Seriously though, their cabin crews are such a pain in the a** that it just gets aggravating after a while. And they're that way to their frequent business fliers.(Most of whom would be on another airline if they had a choice. Lately I find Continental to be above average).

Thank goodness they haven't changed our alert status. It's hilarious listening to the newscasters trying to reassure the "little people" that everything is A-OK, especially since the alert color still hasn't changed.

Well thank God. Whatever.

Saladin destroyed the Christian army at the Horns of Hattin on July 4, 1187. This defeat quickly led to the fall of Jerusalem and most of the rest of the Crusader kingdom.

Hear, hear! I don't feel like celebrating either. I feel more like praying, and that's what Mr. Inspectorette and I will be doing later on this evening.

I'll just behave like I did when I was a temporary and worked at various really putrid law offices in Tampa-town, including McLawyer's Holland & Knight. He ruined them you know. I will just tune it all out coming and going. LOL

Yeah, but it's a stretch. IMO, we have to be on the lookout the entire month of July, because it is the seventh month....7/07, for instance...and 7/11. The idea of the terrorists hoping to use the magic of numbers to enhance their chances of success makes sense (especially to me, LOL) but I ran 7/04 months ago...then again all last week...and just could not come up with a valid enough date to offer the terrorists either protection or success. COULD be my math is wrong...but then again, maybe not.

Oh, I saw Hahn and everyone else talking about "isolated incident," but the fact is they don't know. They've hardly begun to talk to witnesses or get anything on the shooter beyond his name and address.

Of course, they do want people to come to the airport and get on a plane sometime in the future.

If that's true - subdued then shot -- it's not going to play well -- as another poster said this will become a gun issue...

Let it. It was the RATS' taking advantage of Columbine, turning it into a "gun issue," that finally drove all the gun owners to band together and vote the bastards out. It is directly because of the RATS making it a "gun issue" that has caused so many states to repeal gun control laws in the last couple years, many replacing them with CCW laws.

That caused the Brady Bastards and HGI to collapse into near bankruptcy and total irrelevance.

That caused all the RAT candidates at all levels of government to have to abandon the gun issue entirely as polls showed a massive voter uprising against them because of it.

That insured FORTY-EIGHT PERCENT of the people that voted in November 2000 owned at least one gun, and almost all of which considered 2nd Amendment rights to be one of their top issues.

That elected George W. Bush President of the United States.

Oh yes, PLEASE let them make it a gun issue.

Matt Welch, the proprietor-cynic of the L. A. Examiner site, fell for the urban legend too. The British Channel Four had the right name for it -- "malicious disinformation."

Anyone for a boycott of Viacom?
