Thank goodness they haven't changed our alert status. It's hilarious listening to the newscasters trying to reassure the "little people" that everything is A-OK, especially since the alert color still hasn't changed.

You are exactly right. What makes me puke is the fact that networks set themselves up as our official early warning system, then bring on officials that try to calm our nerves. What the hell kind of way is that to try to impart information? If you have to depend on news organizations and officials in order to be prepared for whatever comes our way, then it's too late for you. It's all about personal responsibility.
