The airport is in a complete shutdown

Why? This is the part of our new security blankie I just don't get. Why shut down the domestic terminals? LAX does this stuff repeatedly. Someone thinks a bag may have been passed through security without screening. Or, maybe not. EVERYBODY OUTSIDE! Nobody is afraid of flying, everybody is sick of the hassles.

You are most likely correct. I'm thinking further that it is an American citizen who is a convert to "Islam - The Religion of Peace".

Bet on a prison system convert.

malcontents, traitors, degenerates, socialists and scumbags

Well, I am a malcontent. But I don't cavort with any of the other types you mentioned.

Different governors had different opinions on the issues of armed and locked and loaded..... and in many cases airport security was federally funded but the orders were state active duty orders rather than federal ones...

Why do we put up with this? Because we don't want to be "just as bad as they are" or some other suicidal psycho-logical mumbo jumbo.

That evacuation has sure exposed a lot of citizens ... hope the inside attack wasn't a diversion to draw all those folks outside.

Glad the security (whose ever it was) off'ed the perp ... but our evac procedures should avoid exposing so many people to potential threats outside should some terror cell play a switch and bait on us IMHO.

And (well, not so much recently) evangelical Christians touring Israel. EL Al is Israels national airlines. I think there may have been a 2nd airlines that recently opened to compete with El Al, but chances are that if you are going to ISrael for whatever reason, it's on El Al

Anyone could walk into the terminal, loaded with hundreds of people, and open fire.

Wherever you put the security checkpoint, there will always be crowd of people queued up waiting to be cleared through. That crowd will always be a target.

You can relocate the problem, but you can't eliminate it.

The suspect approached an individual at an El Al Airline ticket counter in the terminal and fired at the individual.

Strange.

The press is going loopy already

Some jerk on Fox News just postulated that it could've been a "white supremist" (not white "supremacist" - he said "supremist", because of the whack job that attacked a Jewish day care center a coupld of years back.

Could be an off-topic race baiter.

Hey, you never know. LA, foreign airline. Isn't California where the immigrants are going to end the world?

Yes, but in other countries where EL AL has flights, the hosting country takes great precautions. It isn't until you get to the gate area here that their security takes over. It is lax security here on the airports part, not EL AL.
