Have you ever wondered what happened to the 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence?

Thanks for this post, Gracey. We can't be reminded too often of the price that these brave men and women paid for our freedom. So many Americans have paid the ultimate price over the decades since the signing of the Declaration of Indendence. We must never forget.

Have a wonderful 4th of July weekend.

MB, you did a simply superb job on this thread! It is beautiful! Thank you

Well, thank you COB, I appreciate your compliment.

I saw part of your 4th of July presentation that you posted the links to in the canteen, but my computer was sick with a nasty virus yesterday, so I couldn't view all of it. But, what I saw of it was beautiful. I will go back later this afternoon and see if I can view it now that I have my computer healthy again. :-)

Thank you Mama Bear. Your thoughts and prayers mean so much to us and our family.

Well, I probably don't need to say much more than "I'm a grandma, too" for you to know that I was understanding the anguish that you must have going through. Praise God, the little one is back with his mother. :-)

IIRC, I first read this in a Reader's Digest issue...
It's a good thing I was close to tissues, because I needed them then, too!
God's Angels come in all shapes and sizes, and from all walks of life. If you blink, you're liable to miss yours...

The Pope was finishing his sermon. He ended it with the Latin phrase,
"Tuti Homini" - Blessed be Mankind.

A women's rights group approached the Pope the next day. They noticed that
the pope blessed all Mankind, but not Womankind. The next day, after His
sermon, the Pope concluded by saying, "Tuti Homini et Tuti Femini" - Blessed
be Mankind and Womankind.

The next day, a gay-rights group approached the Pope. They said that
they noticed that he blessed man kind and woman kind, and asked if he could
also bless gay people. The Pope said, "Sure." The next day, the Pope
concluded his sermon with, "Tuti Homini et Tuti Femini et Tuti Fruiti."

Yes! And thank you SO MUCH for that link to the PC Pitstop. I have the site bookmarked. I was able to scan my C drive there. You wouldn't believe how many files I had infected with that "Klez" virus! I lost several programs that I will have to re-install. But, according to my husband, who rescued my poor sick hard drive and cleaned up all traces of the virus, it could have been worse. It was bad enough, as far as I am concerned! Now I now am a much wiser bear - I have McAfee and it will be up and running at all times. :-)

Dear Friends: Just got home after attending a parade of a hundred patriotic bikes decorated by kids! The turnout was twice as large as last year......many parents & grandparents were proudly decked out in the Red, White & Blue.

I wore my 'Proud to be an American' tee shirt which has an Eagle, Lady Liberty, Old Glory and the date....September 11, 2001 on the front. Also had on an American Flag visor as sun protection in the 90 degree heat!

Mama Bear.....Fantastic Finest today!....This is a Glorious thread for our Glorious Fourth!

Wishing you all a safe and Happy Independence Day!

Good afternoon everyone.
Thanks for all the tremendous graphics
tunes, stories, thoughts, etc.
Many thanks to everyone who visited yesterday.

My machine visits PCPitstop at least
once a week, to hopefully keep it hummming along.

It's time to say good-bye and go prep for
a God Bless America party/cookout. Back later, I hope.

Yes it is wonderful to see the patriotism in those kids....We went to an outdoor concert last evening and the audience spontaneously stood up and began to sing the words when the band (Dixieland) played 'God Bless America!

It gave me chills & made me feel so proud to be an American!
