I just heard on Sean Hannity's show that Bush has criticized the decision earlier this afternoon by the 9th Circuit Court in San Francisco that the Pledge of Allegiance is unconstitutional, due to the phrase "under God."

I am not anti-GW. I was very pro-Dubya for about a year!
I am only anti-liberalism. When he acts liberal, I will smack his nose with a rolled up newspaper. When he acts conservative, I will give him a tasty Dubya-Snacky.
Today he gets a Snacky. Good Dubya! Good boy! Good conservatism, Dubya! :o)

Senate resolution. Will be by recorded vote, not by voice vote. All Senators are co-sponsors, unless they request otherwise. Vote to be immediate; resolution already on speaker's desk. Daschle and Lott moving it now. [Lott and Daschle backpatting each other.] Motion made; seconded; calling the roll.
[Will be interesting to see who votes against this resolution.]

There will be great judgment on American when we make a phrase "under God" unconstitutional. What did God think of America prior to 1954, when the pledge didn't have "under God" in it?

They are the MOST overturned district court in the nation. But they've already planted the seeds of doubt in the minds of our citizenry and children. I hate them for that. Yes they have tried, but I beleive that this will make the decision of who chooses Judges stark in the mind of voters and the liberals will have to defend Goodwin who was appointed by Nixon.
It will be sweet looking at Chapaquidick Ted defending tricky Dick.

The First Amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting the extablishment of a religion nor PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF..."
The courts have, for too long, prohibited the free exercise of religion by splitting hairs on the words "seperation of church and state" which are not found anywhere in the Constitution. That is merely a phrase coined by Thomas Jefferson in reference to the establishment clause.
I am ready to see Congress grow some b###s and retake the power it has ceded to the activist court system. Maybe this will finally do it.

"THE 9TH CIRCUIT WOULD LIKE TO ELIMINATE THIS DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE AND RETURN US TO BRITAIN?" Well, yes. They'd love it if the US were governed by a party of secular socialists.

Would an Amendment to the Constitution recognizing the existence of an almighty Creator be possible? That doesn't "establish" a religion IMHO.

I just asked hubby (who is an attorney) if he heard about the decision. He hadn't yet but said it had to come from the 9th circuit COA and declared them a bunch of idiots. He said this is only one of many stupid decisions they have made. Unfortunately not many of their decisions make it to the Supreme Court so they can be overturned. Hopefully this one will.

Indeed. I've come to call it "radical" atheism.
You're babbling. Children aren't being asked to stand daily and affirm the lack of a God out there in space.
These adornments politicians put on speeches and our pledge have little to do with holiness.

"what if there is no god?" Then both of us are just fine. But if there is, one of us could be in trouble.

Pledge of Allegiance is unconstitutional, due to the phrase "under God." Well that means that the U.S. Dollar is also unconstitutional because it has the words in God we trust, therefore you cannot use U.S. Currency. Since you cannot use the unconstitutional U.S. Currency, there is no way to pay taxes to the Government.
So no more paying taxes because the U.S. Currency is unconstitutional.
Now Libs go figure our how to pay for your programs, because you just gave me an out to paying taxes.
Dont want to violate the U.S Constitution now do we.................

Only if God has the nature of an inbred feudal lord.

Time to elect judges. Radical atheism is worse than radical Islam.

The judge was indeed, appointed by Nixon. I don't know if the judge is a Republican or someone that Nixon appointed at the request of California democrats. The second judge was appointed by Carter.
The DISSENTER, the Hispanic judge, was appointed by President Bush (41).
