......Every Day

FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues;  salute
and support our military and our leaders;  tell a few jokes;  learn a new
word;  write poetry;  pray for those in need;  and congratulate those who
are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which
we can express ourselves.

Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.  I
can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands
of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.

Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!

And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

Meet Beowolf, a FReeper since April, 1998. I would link his page, but there's nothing on it! Not even his flag! (Well, okay, there is a link to one FR thread) :)

A free spirit, you never know on which thread you might find him! But when you do, you won't find him boring. One of my favorites of all his posts was on one of the infamous FReeper Island threads .....it goes like this:

I am announcing my candidacy of the position of Customs and Immigration Inspector. I promise to enact the following:

• All searches of women, for contraband will be conducted in private by me...Men will simply be hung upside down by a rope from a tree and beaten with long sticks until everything falls down....
• A 1000% tariff on all clothing, other than one very small swimsuit...
• All inflated egos will be confiscated and burned...

LONG HAIR

"You know, Dad," 16-year-old Jimmy started. "I'm 16 now and I think it's time that we talk about getting a car for me to drive."

"Well, I'll make a deal with you, Jimmy," his Dad replied. "We'll talk about this car idea when you bring home a good report card and you get your hair cut."

A couple of months later, Jimmy brings home his report card.

"Here you go, Dad. All A's!"

"That's great, Jimmy," his Dad replied. "But you still haven't gotten your hair cut."

"Well, Dad, while making those great grades, I was in a religion class and noticed that Jesus had long hair, all of the Apostles had long hair. Moses, Joseph and even the kings of the land all had long hair."

His Dad thought about this for a second and asked, "Did you notice what else they had in common?"

"No, what?" Jimmy replied.

"They were all WALKING!"

Well I feel like I am in a time warp or something. Took an "ironing" break and came back to a different thread. Sorta reminded me of the old show Dallas when Bobby woke up from his dream and the whole show had never happened.....

Anyway, Good Morning and hope you are doing fine on the Morning (Actually afternoon) After the Day Before. Did not see anything of you after Lodwick made you those Birthday Margaritas. Hope he has some good hangover remedies at his bar. They say a Bloody Mary is best or a glass or chocolate milk....Lodwick, stock up....
