It started with Ms. bitter and hateful O'hare, and there has been a push ever since to take God from the public arena. Anyone who has paid attnetion to politics at all can admit this. There are numerous examples in the FR archives. Do a search. What do you think the ACLJ has been fighting the ACLU over all these years. Take them blinders off!
And by the way...I feel good. I liken it to the purging of my church {Catholic). We're cleaning house there...and we're gonna clean house elsewhere. Better strap on yer seatbelt. lol

I think the idiot judge did us a huge favor...I really do. =)

Are you referring to the push to remove organized government-sponsored prayers in public schools?
I assure you, incidents of government-run school districts being sued (and losing) for pushing a "religious" agenda were happening well before 1900.

*Restore the pledge to its pre-Eisenhower condition representing ALL Americans!*Should we sing kumbaya now too?

ACLJ case list for this month Just a few of the lawsuits going on. Thank God for the ACLJ.
I remember one lawsuit the ACLJ won because some hypersensitive atheist was offended by a group of people who joined hands to pray in the capital rotunda. The guards actually made them leave the grounds. Bitter bitter people. Did you know that the artwork in the rotunda depicts people praying! lol
I'll not be silenced anymore.

Stalin called it "bread slicing" or "salami slicing" small bits of a nations ethical and national resolve are broken down till nothing is left of what once existed.
Not all decisions are either "relative" or just.
Sometimes the simple well being of our nation compel all of us to rise in situations which demand it. The rising tide of dicontent towards decisions like this may be beginning to send a message that this nation, and its heritage will not simply go quietly into the night like some had hoped.
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

One other thing.....
Learning about our Republic was one of the first valuable lessons I learned here at FR so long ago......well, guess not that long ago....little over a mere year ago!
To: geege
Of course. Anyone who knows anything about US history knows that most Americans have and do believe in and respect the Creator God, not just any deity. My sarcasm was not directed at you.
To: JMJ333
Yep, and the atheist losing that case would not amount to "making headway" in an attempt to remove God from the public square, now would it?

You may not believe this, but I actually believe what you're saying. That makes two of us.

I find it funny that you appear to be in the gross minority on this court ruling. In fact, most of the liberal congress aren't even going along with this ruling against religion and freedom of speech. One of the judges who made this ruling put a
stay (sp?) on it btw. I don't think it'll make it past a second round.
BTW, do you believe that most of the constitutional framers and American citizens of the time were athiests and agnostics or believers in God? Don't you think that these personal beliefs had even a little bit of bearing on the Constitution?
To: LoneGreenEyeshade
Thanks to you, I do!I have been persistent (and overbearing at times) on that point haven't I. My pleasure.
...one of the first valuable lessons I learned here at FR...
There is a lot to learn at FR isn't there. I can rarely pass more than a week without learning something of major importance, and I learn factoids or tidbits every day.

I have been persistent (and overbearing at times) on that point haven't I. My pleasure. Well....yeah....but sometimes I can be a little stubborn.....so your persistence was essential....
God bless you,

In fact, most of the liberal congress aren't even going along with this ruling against religion and freedom of speech.
Given the backlash against this ruling (or more commonly the gross misrepresentation of the implications of this ruling), it would be political suicide to endorse or support it. Liberal politicians may be sleazy but they are not stupid. Still, I don't see how it is a ruling against freedom of speech. So far no one has been able to explain exactly how this ruling stifles individual freedom of speech or religious expression; perhaps you could be the first?
BTW, do you believe that most of the constitutional framers and American citizens of the time were athiests and agnostics or believers in God?
Most of the Constitutional framers were theists of some sort, at least thats what I've gathered from their writings. What's your point?
To: LoneGreenEyeshade
God bless you,
And you also. BTW...you'e going to have to change your screen name. You're now MarriedGreenEyeshade.
Belated congratulations.
To: LoneGreenEyeshade
Hahaha...I left the "r" out of you're.
And even with a preview...>>>shaking my head<<<

Thanks. I think Alan Keyes agrees with us too. That makes three.

Last time we mixed government and religion, people got burned at the stake!'Things have come to a pretty pass when religion is allowed to invade public life'
Lord Melbourne, in debate on the the floor of the British parliment, in opposition to William Wilberforce, who fought almost single-handedly for decades to abolish the slave trade.
Cordially,
