What is the worst war movie you have ever seen? Your reasons can be political, realism, historical innaccuracy, or a mixture but what is the worst?

Well, "Gettysburg" had the worst fake beards ever seen on the silver screen.

does mars attacks count as a war movie cuz it sucked You don't like Slim Pickens? But.. but... his music saved the world!(or was that Slim Whitman? I can never keep them straight)
Worse war movie? Hmm, I hated the English Patient. Does that count?

...when the sun sets in the east. (I am not making this up.)LOL - you're kidding. Those Hollywood geniuses could not figger out that Cali is different than (most of) SE Asia?

Right now, "Wake Island" is real high on my list. So phony! The construction workers cried like ti**y-babies and would not help the Marines fight off the Japs. What a bunch of yellow cowards. In the movie, however, wow, they joined hands and manned the machine gun nests along with the Marines. Great book written about it several years ago by a guy from Arkansas. Good read. I highly recommend it. parsy.

LOL- I agree- "Gettysburg" was turned out by the Turner Network I think to make quick cash because of the Civil War fad that was then in full force because of Ken Edwards PBS special. It was terrible.

There was another Korean War film even worse than "Pork Chop Hill." I don't remember its name but it starred Mort Sahl and a Norwegian boxer. Really bad.

BTW, I just saw Black Hawk Down on DVD. I more than makes up for any bad war movie experiences. The fighting is portrayed accurately, and the blame is put squarely on "Washington" (i.e., Clinton) for disallowing heavier firepower (i.e, the AC-130 and tanks).

That's not a movie -- that's a film.

I'll go with you there, and I shall note for posterity that Hamchuck would be a phat name for a band.

Is that about the black soldiers in Viet Nam? Because that would have been my first pick if I could have remebered the name.

Some of those 40s and 50s submarine movies were pretty wretched also. Can't remember the names. You know the type-John Wayne sub commander types. parsy.

I was going to say "West Side Story" but didn't want the flame so I'll go with "the Longest Day".

Well, let's hope that the make-up in the upcoming 'Gods & Generals' will be a whole lot better.
