What is the worst war movie you have ever seen? Your reasons can be political, realism, historical innaccuracy, or a mixture but what is the worst?

My pick is the recent version of Pearl Harbor. It is dreadful on so many levels I can't go into here.

Pearl Harbor I'll second that, although I heard it was so bad that I never actually saw it.

That was a comedy- not an attempt at a serious war movie.

pearle harbor was pretty bad. So was "the thin red line". I never cared for "apocalypse now" either. Even though I like john wayne, I'd have to say "green berets" wasn't very good either.

Howdy
OK you got me, Pearl Harbor has to be up there just because they cast an anti American hatemonger in the role depicting an authentic American hero, good call. (on your part!)
I was moved to reply because I recently saw "A Bridge Too Far" and was flabbergasted by a new perspective on the movie. I was explaining the history, the planning, the objectives, and the execution of Operation Market Garden to my gal as the movie went on, and I realized that not one shred of the how's, the why's, the motivation and training of and for this offensive, there was NOTHING in the movie but an incoherent lurch from violent and bloody scene to violent and bloody scene.
One would think watching that show that WWII was just an opportunity for people to act like animals
hollywood is disgusting.

Altman was arguing that war has no purpose.........Una paloma blanca.

1941 was baaaaad! Also, The Dirty Dozen was a bomb! (nyuk, nyuk)

M*A*S*H.
A bad movie that spawned a worse TV show.
BTW, Mars Attacks was a great movie.

I gotta vote for The Green Berets too, if for no other reason than the closing moments, when the sun sets in the east. (I am not making this up.)
The kid annoys me too.

Ben Afleck- enough said. But why the writers and producers of this movie thought they had to include a fictional love triangle that takes up 3/4's of the movie I will never know. Does this not show a disconnect with the people who run Hollywood and the rest of the Nation? 2500 or so Americans were killed on that day in a bloody sneak attack that launched us into a World War and is responsible for our present leadership in the World today- good or bad- and yet it was made into a third rate soap opera by hollywood! Disgusting. I walked out just before the "good stuff"- so disgusted. I latter watched it on video and was even more disturbed. I can only imagine what survivors of that battle thought watching this horse dung.

"Pearl Harbor" was pretty bad but at least it had interesting scenes of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Off the top of my head, I would say that "The Naked And The Dead" was the worst although I should be able to come up with a war flick worse than that.

"A Bridge To Far" a waste of good actors and a poorly writen and directed movie. Was a real let down and did not show the British failure enough as it realy was.
