The majority of white farmers who are still in Zimbabwe are legally obliged to stop working their land from Monday, according to their union.
The Commercial Farmers' Union says that 2,900 farmers must surrender farms in line with recent changes to the law, which give the Zimbabwean Government sweeping powers to take land.
Any farmer who carries on working their land 45 days after receiving an acquisition notice could face two years in prison.
The number of farmers affected represents about 60% of the total of white farmers who were in Zimbabwe at the time that land seizures began two years ago.
Self-sufficiency
Last month the government passed the legislation, giving farmers 45 days to stop working land which has been listed for acquisition and redistribution.
War veterans have spearheaded the government's land push In theory the farmers now have another 45 days, at the end of which they must leave their properties for good.
The government was not available for comment, but a state controlled newspaper said the authorities had rejected requests from farmers that they be allowed to stay on.
Some white farmers appear to be in a defiant mood and say they will carry on farming.
One said, you can't just wind up 50 years of work in 45 days.
Donors say the food shortages now affecting millions of Zimbabweans are directly linked to the often chaotic redistribution of land.
But the government says that by taking land from white farmers and giving it to landless black peasants, it is ensuring greater self-sufficiency in the future.

BTTT!!!! Sad state of affairs when despots like Mugabe are allowed to run amok like this. Is it worth truning a once great nation into a third world country for a political agenda? Surely the ends do not justify the means. Not in a situation like this.

Any opposition members would do well to escape now, if it isn't already too late. Agreed. I would take it a step further: any whites living in Zimbabwe should leave the country ASAP. It may already be too late - and it's going to get worse.

Personally, I think it is a little bit of racism on the part of the Western governments, and the news media, i.e. we can't hold the colored people of the world to the standards of civilized nations, a la the "White Man's Burden".

The cartridge box was appealed to already in Rhodesia. The Rhodesians were betrayed by the British and American government and coerced into handing victory over to the "zimbabwean" thugs on a platter.
If there's a civil war there, it will be just socialists fighting communists over who gets to starve the peons. After the producing class gets out, I don't care what happens to the rest of them. They begged for what they're getting now. Let them have it.

The current residents of Zimbabwe have only one choice left will they fight for liberty or will they die slowly and painfully prior wars are meaningless.
Stay well - Stay safe - Stay armed - Yorktown

The current residents consist of those who will leave pretty soon and those who supported the current regime at one point in the past. The previous war does have one bearing on the situation: because the "winners" didn't win militarily and they saw that they could be beaten easily by a much smaller force, they banned the ownership of firearms.
That's why I predicted that if there's a civil war it will be between two factions of opressors, not a uprising of the common people to retake their country. That's what looks likely to me, anyway.

You have some very good points- bear in mind the TV has one driving purpose- to hold your attention long enough so that when they switch to commercials, you'll pay attention to them. That's where the real money is- selling ads.
So it is almost inherently shallow, superfical, and without much detail or depth.

Are we past the point where the ballot box can really make a difference in America? Looks to me like the same bunch of elitists is pulling the strings in both major parties.I'm afraid the answers are "yes" and "yes."

The Globalists want them gone - they're an embarrassment to them & they're happy to let Mugabe dispose of them. BTW any one else noticing a trend?
Yes. Those of Anglo-Saxon descent must be eliminated. They are throwbacks that cling to outmoded 18th Century concepts like freedom, personal responsibility, pride, patriotism, family and God. The sooner we rid the world of their stubborness, the sooner we can build a socialist paradise on earth.

I hardly think that the IRS has a special branch the separates the money paid by white taxpayers from those paid by black taxpayers - of which there are many. Your comments sound racist to me.You don't need to segregate the money. Just look at what black Americans - as a group - pay in taxes. Then look at what black Americans - as a group - cost in terms of social programs and law enforcement. You'll see that it is a net negative. In other words, if all the blacks in America moved back to Africa, the Treasury would show a net gain. That's not racist. That's just fact.

[The leftists and media are such fools.]
No they're not. This has been a screaming success; population control from the Slave Party and its UN lackeys at its finest. If anyone has any doubts of what is planned for the US as its family farms disappear and its ag production goes over seas, you have only to watch the preview.
People can be evil, vicious, depraved, fanatical, etc. and still be foolish. Foolishness does not necessarily mean unsuccessful. Hitler was foolish, being certain that he could conquer the world. Al-queda was foolish, thinking that the USA would not attack them in Afghanistan.
Not to impune the points you raised. Unfortunately, I am not sufficiently aware of the polictical situation in Africa, except for the general understanding that most goverment there consists of corrupt dictatorships ("President for life" etc.) And that the vestiges of European colonialism (probably the best thing that ever happened to africa) are rapidly being wiped out -- to the detriment of those who remain.
Not sure what you mena by ag business vis the USA. Large concerns displacing family farms? Methinks the situation in the USA is somewhat different thanthat of Africa in this regard.
