So looking forward to meeting you!

Big amen there!

I have a question. I am really interested, having lived near salt water and deep-water ports almost every day of my life, I have a vast and unsatisfied curiosity about many aspects of the shipping industry. You've mentioned that you and hubby are farmers in Eastern Washington. Do you grow wheat? If so, is it sold for overseas markets and / or domestic markets? If not, do you grow a crop that ends up being exported? I would love more info on how this works, from the landlubber side or the shipping side. I have done some research on it but still have questions.

Hey - I am game for AIM!

My older sons installed AIM on one of the computers in the house, but I don't know which one. I'll see if my 14 yo daughter will show me how to use it. I'm still somewhat computer impaired. But I'll get it done!!

MOM IS THAT WHY YOUR WALKING SO MUCH, BECAUSE GEORGE W IS TELLING YOU TO? I had to laugh because, does my family know me or what?

That is really cute. Two miles is GREAT! I walked tonight with my daughter but not two miles. (She walks too fast for me, so I can tell I need a lot of practice.)

How many of you have and can use "Excel" - ? I have done a fairly inspirational......workbook we can use to "motivate" ourselves to GET HEALTHI-ER! And if you think that would mean it includes pictures of our favorite motivator, you would be correct.

You know; I just thought of the very same thing. I figured that if these unpleasant people consider themselves 'true conservatives', and this is the way they behave, I don't want to be a 'true conservative'. But I wonder if some, if not most of them themselves, are really conservatives at all. There are a lot of give-aways in what some of them say.

I consider myself to be a just plain old conservative. If that's not good enough for them, that's too bad. If I'm a liberal to them, so be it! I figure it depends on what you're conservative or liberal about, anyway. It all lies in perception.

Now that you mentioned about the Dems depending on the President to be too busy; Sen. Kerry has been naughty lately. I was reading this evening that he has been on t.v. bashing Bush for not taking Y. Arafat up on his offer to accept the peace agreement that Clinton presided at 2 years ago. Sheesh, who does he think is president these days anyway?

No surprise here re: Kerrey bashing the President re: Arafat and Clinton's "peace plan". They won't give up until Clinton is over there negotiating in the ME!

I hope W will never ever agree to such a situation. NEVER!

I don't have MSN or AOL during the summer - out in the country and the dial up connection costs me long distance dollars. Sorry. But, if I'm the only one who can't connect via IM, don't worry about me. I can just report my progress on the Dose or via freepmail.

Where we live is wheat growing country and nearly all the wheat grown in Eastern Washington is for overseas markets - Asia and the Middle East. One of the problems with the price of wheat is that we have lousy customers, i.e., many of the bad guys of the world: Iran, Pakistan, etc.

We haven't grown wheat ourselves for a few years now - trying to move beyond that market and the government subsidy. We grow native grass seeds which are used for reclamation projects and reforestation projects and the like. Also grow carrot/onion/pea seed as well. That is used for both domestic and foreign purposes.

If W ever meets with Yassar Arafat, I'm afraid my support for him (W that is) will be significantly downgraded, if not evaporated.. Hate to sound like some of the Bush bashers but I'm afraid I couldn't stomach that one.

I felt similarly, although not as strongly, about CFR. I could stomach him signing it but could never handle a signing ceremony. Fortunately, W didn't let me down on that one.

I do worry about the ME, though.

I don't have MSN or AOL during the summer...

A0L and MSN instant messengers are free. If you can still get to the Dose that means you have internet access of some kind so you should be able to sign up for either of these instant message services and join us. If you want information about signing up for either of these, let me know by FReep Mail and I can send it to you.

Good morning, mtngrl! (did 20 mins aerobics this AM - will be keeping my chart also).

Wphile - yes, please freepmail me your regular email and I will send you the FR Dose Get Healthy Workbook :-)!

I did it pretty fast so it can be amended as needed and if so, I will send out updates. But so far, it's cool - and with great motivational pictures.

I understand your concerns about the Middle East. I share them. We have to remember again and again.

President Bush has hosted Sharon many times at his White House. He has NEVER had Arafat in the door there....while Beelzebubba had Arafat over more than any other world "leader".

Surely, if nothing else, this tells me that President Bush knows who is a terrorist and who is not over there.

If President Bush comes down on the side of a Palestinian State and this is something Israel wants as well (they have said they would accept such), then so be it. I don't like it and I don't agree with it at all if this happpens. Because this will be like us giving armed hostile Mexicans all of Texas, Arizona, and parts of California - where they can build weapons to fire at Americans.

(some people think we are heading in that direction now).

But we know that the US State Department is full of Arafat - Pali lovers. WE KNOW THIS.

So, we will hope and pray President Bush comes out with a speech that puts out a sane policy that does not reward the homicide bombers. I don't know how he can - I don't know what the solution there is. So, will just be in prayer here. When is the speech?

Good morning! Or is it almost afternoon back where you live?

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I just sent you the Cartogra photo album that I made with the Carpenter Dose photos. I only had eleven of them and am not sure if I got all of them. Oh well, the ones I got are WONDERFUL! Enjoy!

I read his post and yes, it is very good. I'm not against a Palestinian State but I am opposed to a provisional one at this time, and any state that has Yassar Arafat at its helm. I cannot tolerate that. My biggest fear is that we end of negotiating, again, with Arafat. I could not take the sight of W shaking hands with Arafat, even if Sharon were willing to do so.

As long as he continues to ban Arafat and refuse to meet with him, I'm fine with his ME policy. But, if he ever does meet with him...all bets are off.
