The President and White House staff participated in a three-mile run, while Laura joined the mile walk. Bush finished 26th with a personal best time of 20:29. After finishing the race, the President said he 'felt great.' Tomorrow, the Presidential fitness weekend will continue with another game of tee ball at the White House. I did a search on the Fat Flush plan and found supplements, etc. to go along with the 'cleansing' process. Looking forward to hearing your book/plan review.

Isn't Thune from South Dakota??? I think EVERYONE wants to see Tom Daschle lose. Even if we don't win back the Senate, just having Tom lose would be good enough for me.

Thus far the book is very detailed about the "science" involved. Much of the emphasis is on the liver and making sure it is functioning at full capacity. Same with the lymphatic system. Considerable amount of detail about how certain herbs and food do this and that affecting this and that...I'm not retaining a whole lot of it as you can tell. I am looking forward to actually reading the diet but thought I best read the background, even if I don't remember any of it.

I'm hoping there aren't too many supplements. I hate taking a bunch of herbal pills. Ugh!

Yes, Thune is from South Dakota and that's why it is getting so much attention from both the GOP and the DNC. Playing like a "bush vs. daschle" showdown. Thus far, it's looking good for Thune.

I think I have a pretty good idea girls! Why don't we all get signed up for AOL or MSN instant messaging (I am already signed up with both) and we can set a certain time Thursday night, say 6:00 Pacific Time (so it's not too late back east) and we can chat for an hour or so on Thursday evenings. These two Instant Messengers are free and easy to sign up for. What do you all think?

State of Mind

If you think you are beaten, you are;
if you think you dare not, you don't.
If you like to win, but think you can't
it's almost a cinch you won't.

If you think you'll lose, you're lost;
for out in the world we find
success begins with a fellow's will;
it's all in the state of mind.

If you think you're outclassed, you are;
you've to to think high to rise,
you've got to be sure of yourself
before you can win the prize.

Life's battles don't always go
to the stronger or the faster man;
but sooner or later the man who wins
is the man who thinks he can.

This is not Burger King...you cannot have it your way. :o)

Ah, don't I know it! My first night on the job, I pulled drinks until my break. Then the muckety mucks from New Orleans who were there for the grand opening (it was the first night the joint was open) asked me to do the order taking and there I stayed for the next three years. I only did the other stuff from midnight to 1 on Fri. and Sat. nights when I was the only girl there. I did the burgers from order to bag. One of the guys did the drinks and fries, but there were times when I did the whole thang! Those were actually fun times because you got the drunk college boys in after midnight (the girls had been taken back to the dorms by then). But this was a state of the art facility for 1971, and on the cash registers were PICTURES of the item being ordered, and the machine made change and sent the coins down a little chute. It was fun to work, but there were some dimwits who STILL had trouble with it!!

One of the funniest things I experienced was when I was in there eating and wasn't working, the manager came out to get me to help take an order. There were some students from South America who were attending the English Language Institute at Sou. Miss. and they were in trying to order a meal. They were botching the English, and the order taker didn't know Spanish, so the manager got me. When I asked them, in Spanish, what they would like to eat, I thought they would CRY with relief! We got em served and on their way, and I went back to MY lunch.

The problem with this guy that is from Texas is that in the same sentence he brags about how he knows Bush and even introduced him at some function and then he votes for the opposition. I don't think he is supporting the opposition openly and that truly disgusts me b/c there are RINOs and then there are chairman RINOs so even among the ranks there are traitors and spies. The latter hypocrites are more dangerous as at least with the senate and house you know who is a RINO.

Unfortunately I don't know his real name--just his moniker.

Awww, you're just trying to make it up to us about that Hillary crack , aren't you?

I've used that Hillary thing on threads where they're all doing their Bush bashing. I go on, post that one line, and leave.

Hugh also is encouraging everyone to write to the State of Vermont, in protest of Leahy.....even IF you weren't planning on going there, tell them you never WILL till they get rid of that bozo.

Someone just sent me this via email. Sorry if it's old. I hadn't heard it before:

Hillary Clinton and her driver were cruising along a county road one evening when an old cow loomed in front of the car. The driver tried to avoid it but couldn't -- the cow was killed.

Hillary told the driver to go up to the farmhouse and explain to the owners what happened. About an hour later, the driver staggered back to the car with his clothes in disarray. He was holding a bottle of expensive wine in one hand, an expensive Cuban cigar in the other and was smiling happily, smeared with lipstick.

"What happened?" asked Hillary.

"Well," the driver replied, "the farmer gave me the wine, his wife gave me the cigar and their beautiful twin daughters made mad passionate love to me."

"My gosh, what did you tell them?" asked Hillary.

The driver replied: "I'm Hillary Clinton's driver, and I just killed the old cow."

I do have AOL instant messenger installed and working on my PC -- I don't have a working copy of MSN and don't want to try to reinstall it as it got really messed up on my PC and I couldn't get back into it. (I also got a pop-up message from McAfee Security Center, for those who do use it, that there is a security hole in MSN making it accessible to hackers; free patch is available - check out MSN or McAfee.)

I will FReepmail anyone who wants it my AOL IM ID.

Thursdays are fine for me but I kind of run on Hawaiian time (if you catch my meaning, as Samwise would say), being on the Left Coast and all.

Or maybe hs-mama could compile the list and send it to all of us Interestedee's. ;-)
