Given the carping and nasty nature of FR as of late, I thought it might be a good time to see the more civil and gracious side of participants. Here is a thread for just that purpose to edify, encourage, and thank.
Ever wanted to thank that unsung FR hero? Agree or disagree, why not tell JohnHuang2 or Registered how much you appreciate their skills. And can you imagine the many hours Alamo-Girl puts into her work? Perhaps you appreciate how well the folks over at Word For The Day wield their words. Or maybe you just want to tell WIMom and her gang that youre sorry for all your unkind words about the recent Freepathon ads, and thank her for all her hard work on that. Maybe you are an FR Radio fan. Well, you get the idea.
What this thread is NOT for: complaints against the management, flaming those you disagree with, bashing the current administration, leaving your opus, whinning about someone being banned, criticizing FR spelling, grammar, or sentence structure, calling out newbies (unless they are disrupting this thread, of course), shilling for your candidacy, carping about a particular regular thread. Well, you get the idea.
Freep on
..
P.S. No, Im not fishing for compliments. Ive already been called every name in the book here on FR, and toothless hag is still my personal favorite.

Amen!

This thread is too long to read all of it, but this morning I wish to say that Snow Bunny's USO Canteen is the most loving place at FR. The Canteen shines with Bunny's sweet spirit and her love for our military. Not only is the daily thread lots of fun, it serves as a "home away from home" for any service person with access to a computer. Thank you Bun.

The real credit belongs to the PaleoLefties of the City of Evil, for providing us with so much material. :)
To: Clemenza
Having lived, briefly, out of earshot of The City for brief periods, I sympathize and am glad to help.
To: .30Carbine
Oh, thank you! That's so nice to hear that, and so special coming from the
one that went out of her way to help me the first few months here at FR - and
was amongst my wee ping list when I first started pinging lists of FReepers. I
think my ping list started out with about 5-10 people that I noticed seemed to
appear on the same threads that I was finding and interested in.
To: JohnHuang2
Thanks, FReepers. We don't always agree -- Well, personally, I always agree with YOU.
To: Freedom'sWorthIt
Thank you!
To: OC_Steve
You're great. Sob.
To: glock rocks
That poor doggie and Fluffy don't love you!
To: Pokey78
BIG Thank YOU bump!
To: The Mayor
Amen to that! Thanks!

To the noble knights of our Round Table.Once upon a time a lonely, bitter old soldier of the Culture Wars, bedraggled and nearly out of ammunition, stumbled upon a young waif bravely carrying a flag and a small but potent Carbine. At first, through the smoke of the battle and his own tears, he thought the waif was a boy. A younger version of himself, still filled with pride and patriotism and a will to fight. Encouraged that there were still those who were inspired to fight the good fight in spite of the odds the old soldier hastened his step to join the waif for another loud cry to battle. But upon closer inspection he found his new comrade in arms was actually a she. And she was beautiful! In tattered uniform, splotched with mud and soot, she stood upright and proud supporting the standard that bore the banner of freedom and cradling a .30 carbine in her arms. The old soldier was so impressed that this slight girl was made of so much grit that he followed her from battle to battle and extolled her virtue in every canteen. He said:
"You gotta love a woman who chooses .30Carbine as her nick!" And I do!!! TigersEye

Amazing - I'll be reading what I think is an editorial from one of the mainstream news sources and think to myself - gosh - I really agree with this writer - who is it? Every time - it is JohnHuang2 our own personal editor-in-chief.
To: JohnHuang2
John, thanks for all that you do for us! I look forward to your threads and your added value.
I even read your NY Slimes links, as you link the articles and then proceed to shred them and expose them as chronic liars.
You and the other great FR news posters are about to replace Drudge for me. You beat him re the speed of your posts and then the great dissections of the thread.
Thanks for all that you do for our cause and for us. Thanks for this thread.
To: Freedom'sWorthIt
Thanks for your kind words and your constant support of the "right" side.
To: dead; Lazamataz
"You make me itch" LOL! That's a compliment??
To: anniegetyourgun
Actually, I look more like this - with 20 years on her.

Thanks for the great added values that you bring to FR everyday that you reply or post a thread.
I have been saving this for you. It is very appropriate re some discussions we have had on the Watergate orgy by the mediot maggots.
To: rintense
You are right there with as we battle the forces from both dark sides! I'm proud to be there with you and the others on the "Right Side"!
To: terilyn
Thanks your kind words. I can only "play" it the way I feel, and it does come from my "heart"!
