Several people have been commenting that Elizabeth had some very sad eyes. I'm starting to wonder if this is a person who has been molesting her. I hate to even say that. What other possibility could there be for a relative to steal her?

Greta interviewed an Aunt tonight on her show and got an answer that grabbed my full attention. I don't recall Greta's question but I'm certain the Aunt's reply was "...that led us to her..." and then Greta ended the segment. She may have said something else right after that but I was so shocked at what I heard that I'd stopped paying attention. This Aunt, on reflection, seemed quite composed... more so than I would be.

Thanks for the ping. I am working late at home tonight and just saw it. I have the TV on, but no news. The Deseret News changes stories at midnight, I'll see if there is eomething there in 15 minutes of so. (This makes me ill if it is true.)

I found it strage that Uncle Tom, would keep that composite artist away. I saw him interviewed on the Larry King Live last evening, this interview was very weird he was very incoherent.
My problem with this whole thing from the git go was that 9 year old keeping quiet for 2 hours. Only way I would keep quiet was if I knew the person who was doing the taking and asking and felt very very safe, or that I thought 14 year old sister and that someone wanted to be alone. Otherwise, as soon as they left I would be running to my parents.
THis whole thing is weird. It is Uncle Tom that is keeping Mr. Klaus away and told him not to come around the family anymore. Strange Uncle.

I understand....more of a reference to Jon Benet Ramsey...
"These things make me so angry I could scream."
If one of these goobers is involved I'd rather just have ten minutes with one of'em....then they can scream.

** then got subjected to the self-appointed thought police of Homeschool Chick or whatever her name is getting deeply offended when anyone didn't have what she considered to be the precisely correct emotion or opinion or whatever regarding the case. **
I would assume you're speaking of me, John. The least you can do is ping me if you're planning to talk behind my back.
I'm not the thought police. I disagreed with your comments made on another thread. Get over yourself.

I wait up for him that's why I'm on so late so often. That's really sweet, sounds like he's a lucky man.

and not to mention one extremely scared young man by the name of Edmunds....
Given that Edmunds has been running around spraying cops with pepper spray at traffic stops I'm not exactly shedding a tear for him.

yes...i saw Uncle Tom on cnn with Nancy Grace...
my impression exactly....
he started to say that the family has been scrutinized because of the poly's...then stopped himself..
I wonder if more than just dadddy has taken a poly or if perhaps uncle Tommy refused one

I read somewhere that the father's polygraph was sent out to Quantico to be analyzed. I thought that a bit unusual. I think it was Shep Smith yesterday that mention when Marc Klass took his polly test .. they knew the results right away and sent word to the media to back off that he was just a grieving father
And then Shep mentioned how odd it was .. that didn't happen in this case

ET, I think you're onto something. In case any of you have missed the other 57 posts I've made on this point, (LOL!) I have always been curious about the 10 people who were already at the Smart house when police arrived. Yes, I suspect that there was some sort of a "meeting" that took place before the police were called, and my bet is that it was to make plans to cover for someone within the community. FWIW, I suspect that the uncle is covering for someone else......I'm less inclined to believe that he is the guilty party.

Thanks for your concern. I'll be honest, this case has all of us a bit spooked. I now request a security person to walk me to my car at night if I work late, I don't leave windows open on the first floor of my house at night. We're all just being more cautious. If I hear anything, I will let you all know. Thanks again...

I don't think so. I think the 9 year old recognized the perp, and told the parents and that a cover up was in the works. How they planned on keeping the name or connection of the perp out of the news is beyond me. Not with so much media. But I think they sought advice from neighboring friends. It just seems like they were being too careful about what they said. The whole thing just hasn't rung true. But, that is just my opinion. I'm glad to see others saying the same thing. The first few days I just lurked in these threads, shaking my head.

And after the last 2 interviews with O'Rielly .. I think he believes the Uncle is involved some how
he said on the Hannity radioi show today when asked if he thought the Uncle did it..." not at this moment"

The Edmunds guy is probably hiding out in fear. His acts sound not typically criminal but mentally ill. I suspect he's very paranoid now.

Investigators have announced that they are narrowing their search for Elizabeth and her kidnapper back to the area surrounding the Smart home. Cooper, the former FBI profiler, says that indicates police are closing in on a suspect and that whoever took the girl had some sort of affection for her.
"She's kind of become an object of his fantasy," Cooper said. "He's been considering this for a significant time and planned it, and he ultimately staked her out."
That fact has some neighbors living in this affluent neighborhood in Salt Lake City's northeast foothills a little spooked.
"It's creepy," said a neighbor of the Smarts who asked not to be identified.
"That's kind of been our thought all along," another neighbor said. "It has to be someone who knows the area.
"You think that the person's going to be this scary person, but really it could be someone you live next door to, who seems normal," the neighbor added. "There's so many workers around here it makes you think. You suspect everyone."

Anyone with a "psych" background see this and care to comment?
To: My Favorite Headache
The dumb thing about this theory is: If the UNCLE did it, why would the little girl need a SKETCH ARTIST to identify him? She knows her **** uncle!
Sheesh.

I also remember hearing a reporter ask the girl's parents how the little sister was holding up... and the parents replied that she was not with the family now. It was all too much for her.
