Great pixes: The pix of the President with the little boys is TOO precious!!
Just wanted to let everyone know that Gallup conducted a post-speech poll (June 7-8) and discovered the following:
Security Plan: 72% Approve 20% Disapprove
President's Approval Rating:
74% Approve [I wonder if the media will trumpet this number as much as they did the 70% number published BEFORE the speech? NOT! Nevertheless, it's still gratifying to know that 3 out of 4 citizens support the President! NOTE: This % increase had to have come from Dems and Indies which must drive the Dem political establishment/media (same entity!) absolutely crazy!!]
18% Disapprove [Given our incredibly fractious society, I find it absolutely incredible that the President's disapproval rating is STILL below 20%!!!! My biggest concern at the moment is the stock market/dollar -- if both continue to behave erratically it could undermine confidence in our economy; NOT good for the fall elections! However, I'm going to follow the President's lead and think optimistically -- just one of a million things that I love about him!]
General Aside:I have noticed lately that a number of BushBabes/Bucks are dealing with personal/family problems -- my prayers are with you all!! Yesterday, my husband and his family had to put their father into a special home for people suffering from Alzheimers -- it's been a TOUGH few days. My father-in-law was such a BRILLIANT attorney/community leader/husband/father/grandfather and to watch him mentally and physically deteriorate over the last several months has been a nightmare (I have such empathy for former President Reagan and Nancy)!

My son and wife are in the Bahamas and my daughter and husband are in Hawaii.
And I'm planning a big trip to Wal-Mart tomorrow!

That post re the wheelchair-bound granny who took on the airport security guards reads to me as tongue-in-cheek. The friend who sent it to me didn't quote an article source, so I'm guessing it was humor with a message.
To: NordP
Sure wish I lived closer...I'd bring the crew a big ole meal. :o) We're all excited for you, Nordie.

It somehow seems worse that a person so talented and productive would get that disease. Sorry about your father-in-law.
Yes, there have been personal troubles among us, and I find it interesting and touching that someone will come to this forum to share a huge tragedy with his friends here.

FYI for Texas and Missouri FReepers:
PRESIDENT BUSH TO CAMPAIGN FOR TALENT IN KANSAS CITY
June 7, 2002
(KANSAS CITY) President George W. Bush is coming back to Missouri to campaign for U.S. Senate Candidate Jim Talent. Talents campaign officially confirmed that the President will travel to Kansas City on Tuesday, June 11, 2002. A detailed event schedule will be available soon.
Talent said, "I'm honored the President is traveling to Missouri to campaign with me. President Bush shares the common sense values of the heartland. I would appreciate the opportunity to work with him in the Senate as I worked for eight years in the House, fighting for quality, affordable health care, protecting our national security and building an environment that helps create jobs and encourages entrepreneurship.
PRESIDENT BUSH TO CAMPAIGN FOR PERRY IN HOUSTON
Fri. 6/14 President Bush speaks at Ohio State graduation in Columbus; Flies to Houston for evening fund-raiser for Texas Gov. Rick Perry.
To: ohioWfan
I'm so thankful the graduation weather was to your liking. Since I control the water in California I pulled a few strings in your little corner of the continent. :o)
Hugs to you as your son leaves for basic soon. I'll be praying for you.

That Granny and her shenanegans was absolutely hilarious. Wonder if that's gonna become the next urban legend. I sent it on to MANY MANY people today....
To: GretchenEE
It was definitely a parody (about the granny) but it had that ring of truth, didn't it?
You just wanted it to be true.

We're so proud we could explode, but both my husband and I have shed, and will shed many more tears for him (we're both 'weepers').
