"Amazing how many freepers were quick to dis Bush!"

That's part of it. The other part is, "Amazing how many freepers were quick to accept media accounts/interpretations of Bush's announcement."

Rush has already "redacted" his remarks from yesterday.
I guess tomorrow we can expect his "I was just trying to get you thinking" speech.

You got that right Howlin!

Rush made comments yesterday, like, what's left for conservatives, taxes and abortion and then calling President Bush, Bush-Gore. With comments like that, Rush loses all credibility.

And today Rush is back tracking, BIGTIME!

The thing about this WHOLE story, including Rush's going on and on about it, is that NOBODY outside we news fiends every HEARD of it.

LOL! Thats funny, but true. BTW, please tell me you still don't live at home with your mother?

Uh, not exactly. This was one of Yahoo's main news stories all day yesterday, as posted by yours truly. You think nobody saw that?

And it should be noted that this report was completed by under the Clinton administration and by his people.

My mother lives with me. And I get a lot of my love of politics from her!

For example: during the census, we got the long form, which we did NOT want to fill out. I decided that I would answer the questions that were on the short form, so I called my mother and asked her what they were. After a long pause, she said, "I only put down how many people lived here!" So, see, I get it honestly. For an 81 year old, she's pretty "with it."

Bill O' has no use for SUV's. He lives in the zoo up there.

He gets driven wherever he needs to go. Down here, in God's country, we enjoy driving and enjoy the wide open spaces.

We have friends. We need the extra room of an SUV.

If I lived up there, in the zoo, I would be jealous of the rest of us, too.

"Well, my guess is that Rush is too small a man to admit that Drudge pulled his strings........." That's my take, too. Rush is a Drudgebot? Rush did not apologize at all today....Can't, straight up, admit that he was snookered!.

Maybe someone at the Whitehouse called Rush, not the other way around...maybe to tell him he was being an idiot!

Sitting here, with a glass of iced tea, reading the frantic spinning from the Bush haters, and with a sly grin on my face knowing that W has prevailed against the blowhards once again.

Poor Rush. Maybe he needs to spend more time on the golf course.

I know that; what I meant was the 24/7 channels. Not a word about it.

Oh, except I did read that Brokaw jumped all over Rush's remarks yesterday. Trying to show the great divide, I suppose.

yesterday when Bush finally came out

Yes, he waited a whole 24 hours to respond to a NYT article that he didn't know was coming out to distort a report that had no policy recommendations.

Yeah, he was cowering.

The fact of the matter is that some conservatives have chosen political suicide over political adaptation. They are as much of a threat to what I stand for as left-wing nutcases, as far as I am concerned.

O'Reilly was happy with the report, incidentally.

That's because O'Reilly will never make the same mistake Rush did. O'Reilly always does his research first...

>> Then stop calling him a 'betrayer.' It's not a word most people use with someone they have even an ounce of respect for.

For the most part, people who feel 'betrayed' misunderstood what he stood for in the first place.<<

Oh, you mean like Campaign Finance Reform? Remember how he called it unconstitutional on the campaign trail, and then made jokes to the press about how fast he would sign it?

But of course, because I expected him to keep his word, that makes me a Bush-basher.

FYI, I NEVER GOT a census form. I was a grad student living on campus, BTW.

LOL!!!!!!!!! It doesn't get any better than this! Limbaugh should have known better than to to use the NY Times as his source. Pretty soon his credibility will be right there with Drudge! And the Pres comes out and says it -- no spokesman but the man himself. So I suppose now some anti-Bush folks will say he said the wrong thing! Made my day!

Huh?

O'Reilly agrees with the report. The President disagrees with the report. So O'Reilly disagrees with the President, no?

There are mistakes made within this administration from time to time. It is good when those get pointed out and addressed.

Right. Whether or not Rush/Hannity jumped the gun or not with their criticism, people have lost sight of the fact that it is the job of the press to report on and/or editorialize questionable acts or policies of the government.

Lord knows the liberal media abdicated that role for eight years, but even the NY Post criticized yesterday's report.

The healthy lesson to be learned from all of this is that the conservative media and punditry are intellectually honest and diligent in their pursuit of the truth.
