Whether the scenario at #148 is in play here is debatable. Here's yet another twist...

It's been my observation that Bush likes to rattle the Right so that he can shrug his shoulders at the Left and rule the Center.

I don't think that's the case in this situation though, because he wouldn't have been dismissive today of the bureacracy if he was trying to mollify both the Left and Right simultaneously.

I'm taking this one at face value unless I see specific info otherwise. Which means Bush needs to get watchdogs in place at the bureaucracies so that situations like this don't happen.

Since it now been embraced as fact by both the R's and D's

No it hasn't. Bush dismissing this report out of hand dispells your assumption. Just another detail you overlooked in your zeal to declare how all is lost and nobody but yourself can recognize that.

the administration's "ketchup is a vegetable" incident.

Hey! Ketchup is a vegetable! You know how many tomatoes go into a bottle of Heinz? Something on the order of 300! Look it up!

Ya gotta learn to be patient. That guy has a bead on all of the liberals and is letting them hang themselves. Maw Richards tried to warn the dems, but they are so damned smart that they didn't need to listen...and they still aren't!

We boycott Rush from now on,

Now wait a minute. When he spoke favorably about Bush and helped get him elected, he was known as a god around here. Everyone though Rush had a gift of all knowing.
When he helped bring down both Gore and Clinton, FR cheered.
When he screamed about Waco, Elian, Ruby ridge, nurmous ME terrorist attacks during the Clintin administration, Hillays lust for power, Dashole, Gephart, etc. ,everyone cheered!
When he sees Bush morphing into a socialist and admits it on the air, that he was wrong about supporting Bush, all of a sudden Rush has no idea what he's talking about.

Do you always turn on friends that fast? Maybe it's not Rush who's wrong. Did you ever think of that? (Didn't think so).

If you had employeess doing something that actually helped your "competition", would you hold them accountable? What do you think the odds are that anyone in this..um..oh yes, bureaucracy, is held accountable?

It's being reported now that Bush is saying he was not responsible for his administrations report regarding global warming.

This is getting interesting.

Well, that's what happens when you hire people and trust them to do their jobs. Would you have him micro manage all the bureaucracy? Have you compared the President remarks from June 2001 to the report?

Someone in the "bureaucracy" blew it. Let Bush sort it out and do damage control now. Either way, our side looks STUUUPID and Bush will be doing damage control for months and months.

Looks to me like someone should be fired - TODAY.

Spot on, and "our side looks STUUUPID" is right.

Bush needs watchdogs in every bureaucracy.

"BTW, WE are his base; WE waited to hear what HE would say before we jumped off the cliff."

And Bush said -

"I read the report put out by the bureaucracy"

If you can take a minute or two from your high fiving, please explain to me how this makes everything all better.

This administration doesn't rely on false accusastions to change government jobs like the last one did.

There are PROCEDURES to getting rid of them, you know. Remember Ashcroft went to the Congress so he could make some changes at DOJ; they turned him down.

"I expect the left to push this to near the top of their political agenda..."

Yep, and do you know where it ranks on the agenda of the rest of the voters? Let me give a hint...if you pick up that piece of whale shit at the bottom-most section of the Mariannas Trench, you will find the subject of Global Warming.

Personally I beleive that the recriminations will be discrete.

Oh of course, wouldn't want to make an example out of anyone...

But is doesn't matter that the people working for him are doing things he doesn't agree with? Huh?

It can't be done. I looked into work at the NSA as a researcher. Trust me, they don't get rolled over with every administration and these kinds of reports don't just get written up overnight. There is an entrenched bureaucracy and there has been since Andrew Jackson.

He just said he read the report and rejected it; he, unlike many here, didn't reject it before he READ it.

There you all go again

What on earth are you talking about? I don't post too much on this board and when I do it's not against Bush. I'm sure I've supported him and said somethings I wish he'd do better--how does that warrant your sarcastic comment?

Answer this...do you wish Bush came out yesterday BEFORE this whole thing blew up and dismissed the report? Or do you think waiting until he upset a lot of his supporters and got some liberals to go on record as supporting his report was a good thing?
