Conservatives Claim Nickelodeon Promoting Homosexual Agenda
CNSNEWS.com ^ | 6/04/02 | Matt Pyeatt

(CNSNews.com) - A conservative group says Rosie O'Donnell, who recently disclosed her homosexuality, will appear on a Nickelodeon Network program in which children will be asked if they think homosexuality is morally wrong and whether they believe laws are needed to protect homosexuals from discrimination.

Nick News, the program in question, is aimed at viewers between the ages of eight and 13.

While Nickelodeon admits it is "researching and compiling information" about a program focusing on "diversity and tolerance," the Traditional Values Coalition (TVC) alleges that the network is lying about its real goal -- promoting the homosexual agenda on a popular kids' television program.

Andrea Lafferty, executive director of the TVC, said the Nick News program is being produced by Linda Ellerbee, a long-time supporter of homosexual causes, according to the TVC, and will feature an appearance by O'Donnell. Lafferty did not reveal the source of her information except to say it came from "insiders."

"It's time for Nickelodeon to get its story straight about their plans to promote homosexuality on their children's network," Lafferty said.

Lafferty said her organization has learned that O'Donnell will be the only adult on the set of the program and will be interacting with children before and during the taping.

"What kind of pro-homosexual message will she be giving these children?" Lafferty asked. "Where's the balance? Why not invite Dr. Laura on the show?" a reference to conservative talk show host Laura Schlessinger.

Lafferty accused Nickelodeon of deception. Despite statements from the network, Lafferty said an article in the Washington Blade newspaper revealed that the program had already completed its research and development phase and that homosexual activists would participate in the show.

"Nickelodeon lied to me twice about the status of this program and the involvement of a homosexual activist group in its production. Nickelodeon's leadership cannot be trusted to tell the truth about this show. I was also told that Nickelodeon would not ask children invasive questions about homosexuality, but I have a copy of the questions that will be asked. I consider them inappropriate," Lafferty said.

According to the TVC, it has obtained the following questions intended for the program.

What do you think about homosexuals -- do you think it is morally wrong to be a homosexual? Why or why not?

Many kids these days are growing up in families that are non-traditional (have 2 moms, or 2 dads) -- What do you think about that?

Many schools are bringing issues about homosexuality and diversity into classrooms -- do you think these kinds of things should be taught in school? Why or why not?

Do you think homosexuals are discriminated against because of who they are?

Do you think we need laws to protect gays and lesbians from discrimination -- why or why not?

David Bittler, senior communications director for Nickelodeon, refused to acknowledge whether the questions were in fact being planned as part of the program. However, he insisted the Nick News program was still in the early stages of production.

"The claims being made by the Traditional Values Coalition are unfounded if not misguided. Nick News is researching and compiling information for a special focusing on issues of diversity and tolerance with specific attention to the issue of same-sex parented families," he told CNSNews.com via email.

Bittler also stated that the program has not been taped and that content would be evaluated to make it appropriate for his audience.

"The special has not yet been produced, and any presumption of its content is premature. In the tradition of Nick News, the content will be totally age appropriate for our viewers," Bittler said.

He refused further comment on the subject.

Lafferty said any homosexual message is inappropriate for Nickelodeon viewers.

"The truth is that Nickelodeon is working with the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) to promote this show. GLAAD's whole purpose for existence is to push positive portrayals of homosexuality in the media," she said.

Lafferty also said Nickelodeon has "blocked its main email address and is not accepting emails from concerned parents."

When parents call to voice their disapproval over the show, "they're being given the runaround," Lafferty charged.

Nickelodeon does not have an official target date for airing the program, but the TVC claims it has information that the network plans to air the program in mid-June.

The TVC is urging its supporters to sign a petition voicing their disapproval of the program. Lafferty said the petition would be delivered to Nickelodeon.

I have always said that Rugrats will be the first cartoon to promote homosexuality.

Rugrats is the only Nick show I won't let my son watch. After the 250th consecutive episode where Grandpa falls asleep while babysitting/the men lose the kids and must be saved by the women, he looked at me and said, "Dad, all daddies aren't that dumb, are they?"

Pretty well cinched it for me.

Then I read the entire link and somewhere it said that the kids were already claiming they were homosexual. An 8 year old knows this already?

I know...I just cringe every time I see those words together - "gay-lesbian-bisexual-transgendered children"...ugh!

where did you purchase it and who (if you remember) produced it?
We bought it at a business supply store; I'm pretty sure it was OfficeMax. I don't remember who produced it. It was one of those CDs on sale for a cheap price...lol.

Why not tell the children what homosexuals say about homosexuals? For example:

Is This Gay Behavior Sick?

"Let´s look at gay behavior as defined by two gays, Marshall Kirk and Hunter Madsen Ph.D., authors of After the Ball: How America will Conquer its Fear and Hatred of Gays in the 90´s (1989).

In Chapter Six, they outline “ten categories of misbehavior,” drawn from their own experiences, wide reading and thousands of hours of conversation with hundreds of other gays...

What follows are some highlights. As you read this, ask yourself if there is another human community, including the Mafia that could make these generalizations about itself. Ask yourself if we haven´t caught this disease, or at least the sniffles.

• The authors say “a surprisingly high percentage” of pathological liars and con men are gay. This results from a natural habit of self-concealment, and leads to a stubborn self-deception about one´s own gayness and its implications.

• They say gays suffer from a “narcissistic” personality disorder and they give this clinical description: “pathological self absorption, a need for constant attention and admiration, lack of empathy or concern for others, quickly bored, shallow, interested in fads, seductive, overemphasis on appearance, superficially charming, promiscuous, exploitative, preoccupied with remaining youthful, relationships alternate between over idealization and devaluation.”

• As an example of this narcissism, the authors say “a very sizable proportion of gay men” who have been diagnosed HIV positive continue to have unprotected sex.

• They say the majority of gays are extremely promiscuous and self-indulgent. They must continuously up the ante to achieve arousal. This begins with alcohol and drugs and includes such “forbidden” aspects of sex as wallowing in filth (fetishism and coprophilia) and sadomasochism, which involves violence.

• They say many gays indulge in sex in public bathrooms and think it is antigay harassment when it is stopped. Many think they have a right to importune straight males, including children.

• Many gays are “single minded sexual predators” fixated on youth and physical beauty alone. When it comes to the old or ugly, gays are “the real queerbashers.” Disillusioned themselves, they are cynical about love.

• “Relationships between gay men don´t usually last very long.” They quickly tire of their partners and fall victim to temptation. The “cheating ratio of ‘married´ gay males, given enough time, approaches 100%.”..."

Thanks for the PING, but I believe the largest vehical for promoting the homosexual agends is the Public Schools/Teachers Unions unholy alliance.
Like a virus, they are worming thier way into every aspect of our society, spreading thier vile filth which originates from the gates of hell.
Rights and acceptance for homosexuals? Are you kidding me?
Back into the damned closets with the lot of them. Wicked, wicked perverts.

Excellent excerpts. I forget the stats, but the number of partners that a homosexual has far exceeds that of the heterosexual community. The narcissm is a very good description.

The agenda is definitely the children. I hope every parent watches every show with their child. That cartoon link is a perfect example.

"I say leave them alone and let them get the show produced and "in the can"...THEN, when the evidence is on tape, let Ashcroft & company swoop in and subpoena the program before it hits the air so they can comb it for evidence of contributing to the delinquency of minors, child sexual abuse (persuasive intent), and a whole slew of other such charges! This could make for the biggest case against perversion in history..."

That would be great, but homosexuals are free to do as they please with kids as far as government is concerned. Have you heard of "Fistgate"? An audio tape was made of Massachusetts Deparments of Education and Health employees instructing children on the mechanics of homosexuality. If you haven't heard the tape before, the link is posted in reply #22 in GrandMoM's Assemblyman MOUNTJOY opposes promotion of homosexuality in public schools thread (you'll need RealPlayer to listen to the audio clips).

Once you've listened to the perverted filth being taught to the kids, consider that no charges were brought against any of the people involved with the "workshop" and that the woman teaching the kids has been reinstated in her job (see Camenker Vindicated by Reinstatement of Fistgate Teacher). And consider that the two honorable men who exposed this garbage are being sued -- with the support of the homosexual community. (For more infornation, visit the Parents' Rights Coalition web site).

Fistgate should have been the biggest case against perversion in history. There was more than enough evidence of contributing to the delinquency of minors and child sexual abuse (persuasive intent). If the government will let homosexuals get away with Fistgate, they will let "Nick" get away with whatever they wish to do with their show.

Arrrrgh! Nickelodeon has no business confusing young minds. They should not interfere with the normal development of youngsters, period!

Does anybody really trust the corporate owners of Nickelodeon that much?

The people who run the media are out to indoctrinate your children about a variety of issues. One should be very, very careful about what they watch. Better yet, just turn off the TV.

My 6-year-old doesn't even know about heterosexual sex yet.

Our Boy Scout troop has been attacked by homosexual activists in our town, thus forcing us to discuss homosexuality with our kids. Then, the former pastor of the Catholic Church in the next turned out to be a homosexual teenage boy rapist. Again, the Catholic Church scandal has forced us to discussed depraved and horrific forms of sexuality before our kids have developed an understanding of normal sexuality. Then, if you aren't careful about the TV, you'll find yourself having to explain the constant jokes about anal sex on shows like Will & Grace and Friends. (Of course, our kids aren't allowed to watch these, but they hear about them from friends.) I resent all of this deeply. I have always been for live and let live, but when the whole homosexual thing is forced into my house and my Church and our Boy Scout troop - and in our schools and all over TV, then I become angry - very angry. I will NEVER have my kids watch Nick again.

Believe it or not, I didn't know anything about homosexuality until my junior year in high school (and by that time, I understood normal sexuality very well). I would like my kids to have the chance to let their God-given sexuality develop normally before they are forced to think about things which are perverse and dangerous and disgusting.

I got this in an email:

CNSNEWS.com is offering a poll for you to vote against Nickelodeon's plans to show a Nick News program on homosexuality. Its Viewers Poll is available at: http://www.cnsnews.com/

The CNSNEWS.com Viewers Poll asks: "Is it appropriate for the kids' TV channel Nickelodeon to air a show about homosexuality?" The poll is located on the left side of its welcome page in the grey column. Thank you for taking a stand -- again -- for our children and grandchildren.

The Coalition is almost certainly right on the money. The proposed question would be an absolutely idiotic one to be asking 8 to 13 year olds. The very best thing that might be said about the idea is that it is absolutely stupid, and someone ought to be demoted or fired for embarrassing the network. And you don't have to go to the worst interpretation, to make a case for filing criminal charges against someone. An 8 year old kid should not be approached in this way, about such a subject. The very posing of the question may interfere with parental guidance, and undermine traditional teaching--as well as confuse still developing images of what it means to be a man.
