#553....Apparently, the network news orgs are now using Drudge and Rush as sources. Did anyone see the NBC Nightly News tonight? They played the "George W. Al Gore" clip from Limbaugh's show today. I was shocked. It's good that most people I run into don't know anything about this non-story because they don't read the NYTimes, Drudge Report, Free Republic, or listen to Rush.
#553, posted by July 4th, informed us that NBC played the tape of Rush calling our president "George W. Al Gore." (I'm assuming that's not a joke.)
The only problem for Brokaw, NBC, Carvile, Rush, Drudge, Libertarians, the liberal media, and Hillary for President promoters is that Americans still have a high opinion of Bush.
Most of these rabid Bush-bashers probably didn't vote for him in the first place, and they have gleefully joined Rush, who is quickly turning into a has-been.

Voting and freedom have absolutely NOTHING to do with each other. They vote in Iraq and guess who wins every time. They vote in Mexico and for 72 consecutive years the PRI won. Freedom is only possible when individual Rights are protected, rather than stolen, by the State.

Because you say Rush has been "the" voice for conservatism for 10 years, do you think we should stick with him, right or wrong? Just because Bush SAYS he's a Republican concervative, does that mean we should stick with him right or wrong?

I've been saying it all along, we will not get the senate because we fight amongst ourselves. United we stand, divided we fall. The supreme court is ours, only if we work together. Think about it the alternative. More Bader-Gingsburgs, more Kennedys. Exactly right....the democRATs always stand together....we must do that if we are to gain a majority in both houses!

I'm surprised you're here. I thought you'd be somewhere, waiting for somebody to decide who you should vote for.

I have more respect for Rush since he has come out against Bush. I never liked Bush; I thought he was only for big business and other conservative issues meant nothing to him. Now I see that all he is interested in is bringing in illegal Mexicans for American slave labor and insuring that he wins the next election. He is just like Clinton was: leaning so far the other way from his party that he is unrecognizable for what he is supposed to stand for. This has really opened my eyes to politics. I thought that the Clinton "kool-aid" drinkers, who supported Clinton no matter what he did, were restricted to Democrats, but I see that the "Bush-bots" are just as loyal. What does it gain you to have your man in office if he doesn't impliment what you stand for? Or even worse: supports what you are against? Rush has courage to stand up for what he believes and I admire him for speaking the truth, even if those with blind loyality bash him for it.

Nope, Rush is becoming a libertarian. I think small government is one issue where libertarianism and conservatism can agree. That is what I understand Rush to support. So in that respect, perhaps he's out there cheering policies that both groups could claim as their own...

Actually I expect that from people who take the NYT as the word of G-d. Give it a rest Dane, you are beginning to sound like the PLO
emissary to the US.
No one on this forum, and I mean no one, takes the NYT or
any other secular source as the word of g-d.

I forgot to add the ICC pullout to my list of good things.
One thing that dawned on me while I was driving home from the youth football board meeting tonight. When I mentioned the reversal of the government's position on the 2nd amendment, several people harshed on me saying things along the lines of "those were just words that didn't change anything yet. Wake me when something actually changes". What dawned on me is that with this "flip-flop" it is the same thing.
I am being consistent in crediting him with the 2nd amendment change and being critical of this. But some of the bashers sure seem to want to say these words mean everything, but the words about the 2nd amendment mean nothing, even though in both cases nothing concrete has changed.
I am getting weary of the propagandists. It makes it very hard for a person to air legitimate concerns when there are a bunch of people rooting for the administration to betray conservatives harping on every little thing hoping to persue their own agenda.
Somehow, we need to find a way to take our site back from the propagandists.

Did Bush really promise that? Smaller gov't and less spending? I don't recall that.I think maybe the last time a Pubbie did that was Bob Taft, correct? Maybe you wished he would do that, but he never ran on such a ticket, now did he?
To: habs4ever
Please cut out the baiting, Bill You'll have to explain what you mean by that, Dave.

I stood by Rush when he was having his hearing issues and his golf issues and his Marta issues... I felt I owed some loyalty and have really tried to hang in there... But today Rush did something he's never done before... Gone with a story before researching it... That's lazy and leads to discontent. And now after hearing that NBC nightly news played his sound clip its sad. If Rush can come on the radio tomorrow and apologize, I'll start listening again.

Thanks Dr Scarpetta, I feel better now.

Translation: You have no agrument so you're running away.
And here I thought you were such a toughy. But all someone has to do is jokingly align you with Bianca Jagger and you throw down that gun, pull your skirts up and burst into tears.
Gosh, precious...I'm so sorry. There, there. I won't ever hurt your feelings again. I promise.
Better?
Now will you tell us how the FBI and CIA are suppose to protect us without more money or more power to find bad guys?
See? I didn't hurt you.

Well, of course, I believe it is an attempt by the liberal media to find something to throw at the President in a desperate attempt to make something, anything, stick. My disappointment comes from those who have seemingly not read the report, especially Rush. But that's just me.
To: jwalsh07
if that is true, then good. i am not a bushbasher and i am not closed-minded. i can be persuaded and convinced with good logical argument and facts. would you not agree that people can see reality/facts differently?
just curious...what do you think of mueller?
To: BillofRights
We don't vote like they do in Iraq. We have free and open elections... What is your point?
To: clintonh8r
LOL!!! One thing for sure is our President has got more moves than a rodeo bull just out the gate...designed perfectly to throw most everyone off.

You may be missing the point. Rush is conveniently ignoring the facts surrounding this report, its release and the administration's position on it. He's taking his cue directly from Drudge and the NYT. That's our (or at least, my) problem with Rush. It looks like he's trying to create a controversy by delibertately distorting or ignoring the facts. In the meantime, he's giving the Bush-bangers the red meet they've been starved for.
