You may be missing the point. Rush is conveniently ignoring the facts surrounding this report, its release and the administration's position on it. He's taking his cue directly from Drudge and the NYT. That's our (or at least, my) problem with Rush. It looks like he's trying to create a controversy by delibertately distorting or ignoring the facts. In the meantime, he's giving the Bush-bangers the red meet they've been starved for.

Yup.

Pointed out the facts on another thread, and the usual crowd of folks who seemed to all have registered in late 2000/early 2001 have been carrying on without paying attention to the facts.

Rush is conveniently ignoring the facts surrounding this report, its release and the administration's position on it.

These are the facts as I understand them:

1. The Administration's policies have not changed; however,

2. The Administration recognizes that human activities have and are impacting global temperature

If I'm to understand this properly, Rush is upset not at current policy, but at the potential long-term ramifications of agreeing that human actions are to blame for global warming. IOW, by ceding the premise to the liberals we may have changed the argument from "Is global warming legit?" to "What should be done about global warming?"

Am I missing something here?
