What an original insult. I've never heard that one before. NOT.

Anyone whose screen name involves groveling before a politician has little standing to even comment on the nick chosen by another. FYI, I don't hate Bush. I'm critical of him and of the people who subscribe to a cult of celebrity for the hired help. You have no idea whether or not Bush is a "fine man". You've simply watched him on TV and subscribed to his cult.

BTW, I don't go to that ridiculous daily thread. I stumbled onto it once a few months after it started running and immediately saw what it is. I haven't checked it out since.

Why do care about Bush? He isn't your president, you didn't
vote for him.

Here is a clue. When the President signs a bill, it applies to
people who didn't vote for him too.

For future refrence, I voted for Bush.

If he's smart, he'll stop what he's doing, because we
'consumers' know better than to believe the tripe he's been
dishing out lately.

Then why worry? The free market will determine his fate.

By the way he is smart, and I bet he will have a show
for a longer period than Bush will be president.

Oh, so you mean the UN then? And Bush is the UN's cabana boy? Sorry,I think on this issue, you've got your Presidents mixed up ;-)

I subscribe to the duopoly theory. IMHO, they're all singing off the same sheet of music and they're all cut from the same bolt of cloth. The Constitution matters nothing to either Klintoon or Dubya.

Or it may be a ploy by Rush to attract new listeners, liberals though they be.

Criticizing the President and then getting news time on NBC news will probably woo a few liberal listeners into tuning in Rush, just to hear the President get bashed.

[Vice President Quayle was on Hannity & Colmes]

Sorry, bud, but Dan Quayle isn't the VP anymore. Those titles go with the job and aren't theirs anymore when they leave office. Would you call Clinton "President Clinton"? I wouldn't.

Yes, Congress passes a farm bill every five or so years. Any sitting president can veto such a bill and tell Congress the items he objects to. They then have the choice of amending the bill, withdrawing it or repassing it over his veto. What on earth do you mean that the veto is worthless except for what mileage it would give the other party? The veto is the president's tool for shaping legislation. If he doesn't use it, he can only be assumed to approve of the legsilation, pork and all.

It sounds to me as though you and Dan Quayle are the ones who haven't the foggiest clue about how our government is designed to work. These three cushion political bank shots you seem to admire have diddly to do with how Congress and the president are supposed to work and everything to do with political strategy (read dishonesty and subterfuge) and the use of that sort of strategy is what has destroyed our country.

Some people don't want to discuss the merits of any given issue or agree that there are some issues on which reasonable people can disagree. They simply want to call those they disagree with names and impugn their integrity and their motives.

i tried to make this point several times last night. yes, reasonable people CAN and do disagree. they can even see reality/facts differently. i can be influenced/persuaded with good logical argument. that is why i see no point in debating someone who resorts to personal attacks.

It's so nice to know there is someone out there who actually gets it -- whose brain hasn't turned to propaganda mush. Thanks for the reply.

Your response to my post is a round of name-calling that sounds like every liberal I ever encountered. The soccer moms are still liberals and they will not vote republican. You're welcoming a bunch of people into your tent who won't be there at the next election.

In case anyone needs to know why you boys are called the "stupid party" you just gave an excellent example.

Free hint for the President: when pretty much all conservatives disagree with you, you might want to consider that it's not a conspiracy, and that you might be wrong.

but, but....aren't we all whackos, insane, nuts?? [/sarcasm]

Well if you knew why on earth do we even need the USSC?

The Supreme Court gives an opinion, and they are often wrong,
because they make political decisions, not Constitutional
decisions.

Do you have any doubt that the 2nd ammendant was to
protect your right to own firearms? Well the Supreme Court
put that right into jeopardy with their wrong headed decisions.

That Rush, Sean Hannity, and Drudge who is a total dufus, would gladly jump to the leftist media is really disgusting.

Not even respecting the President enough to wait for the entire story to be revealed but to begin bashing on the basis of something written in the Washington Post or the New York Times!

I guess ratings are more important than the security of our country. Pity!

You really ought to brush up on your history, as Newt, in his overwrought manner, thought he had a mandate to shrink gov't.He didn't.If he had, Clinton and Dick Morris wouldn't have had any traction with their triangulation strategy towards the end of 1995.Newt had a mandate to slow Clinton down, but not to close various agencies. His personal foibles made it easier to demonize him, and while ruthless, it is to be expected in high stakes politics. He overreached when the public was still trying to see if he could be trusted, and even a fellow like Pat Buchanan thought so at the time. But, try telling that to the few that would rather shrink gov't than cut taxes, or give out tax credits as opposed to cutting capital gains taxes.Or the type that fret over debt, when growth is the wedge issue that gets Republicans into office and keeps them there.

Funny, how many would revere Reagan here, yet not follow his playbook on electoral and governance success. They'd rather listen to the green eyeshade LIBERAL Republicans, who will never cut your taxes and increase regulation, so you get the worst of both worlds. And, they lose.

Based on some of the comments on this thread, I realize a number of FReepers plan never to listen to Rush again (at least so they say); however, for those of us who ARE interested in the discussion, he just started clarifying the global warming issue, the report, and his stance a few minutes ago. Here's my take:

Rush still maintains that, as a result of this report, "it's goodbye to science, hello to politics." The enviros will now claim that we "must regulate that human activity that causes global warming" and will be aided by the willing presstitutes. (The RATS can of course be expected to jump on that bandwagon as well.) Inotherwords, the parameters of the argument have now been changed, which was his original contention. The argument is no longer, "Is there global warming?" but "What do we do to stop global warming?"

End of report.
(BTW, I voted for President Bush and fervently supported him, so save that tune for the next victim, please.)

Rush: "The EPA is full of career leftists and they issued a report full of junk science based on flawed data." "People will easily suck up the notion that this is all our fault, and the Left's agenda, slowly but surely, gets adopted."
