My fellow Freepers ;
My cousin Darryl, who is 17, and his soon to be wife, Kim, are about to lose their newborn girl, Kaitland Marie. She probably won't see the Sunday sunrise.
Kaitland Marie was born on May 17, and weighed 8pounds 6 ozs. Nothing appeared wrong, but she wouldn't breast feed.
On Tuesday, the 28st, she got sick, and her Dr. sent her to Scottish Rite in Atlanta. She was put in ICU.
Wednesday, her liver shut down. Thursday, her kidneys. The Dr.s then told Darryl and Kim that the baby had no hope of recovery.
Since Thursday, the Hospital staff has revived her 3 times after her heart stopped, against the wishes of everyone involved.
Tonight, the Dr.s have finally said no more cpr, so her time is near to be with the Lord.
Both families involved are involved with churches, and have recieved many prayers and much food.
But, I feel that someone can never use enough prayer. So, I ask for the prayers of all you freepers for the soul of this little girl, and for the families involved.
Although the parents are both young, and they were not married at the time of birth, they waited so that Kim's Father's insurance would pay for the baby. Both kid's are really good kids who really need our prayers.
Lastly, how does everyone feel that the hospital didn't care for the parents wishes not to revive?

God is holding this little one in the palm of His hand - and the parents and grandparents, too. Prayers continue.

I truly believe that these Prayers have a part in Kaitland's survival since the Dr's "She won't make it through the night" statement on Saturday. He may be a doctor, but he is just a man. I would never give a DNR order on a doctor's prognosis alone.
If there is a chance, you have to make sure the DNR order is purged from the system.

I just saw this thread and read and repeated every prayer here. Dreading the next post and the next like you dreading the calls you had to make. I am happy she is doing better and I now include my own prayers for your family.
God Bless and Heal this child, may her family find comfort and peace through your wisdom and power...Amen

"He may be a doctor, but he is just a man. I would never give a DNR order on a doctor's prognosis alone." Believe me, the family's decision was not based on the DR.s alone. Secondly, the DR.'s have control over the DNR order, not us.
But I do appreciate your thoughts and Prayers.

What wonderful news, Kermit! I have been praying very hard for you all, and my boys have kept Kaitland in their prayers as well. Sometimes, just sometimes, God decides that maybe it isn't time yet. I hope this is the case with Kaitland Marie. :-)

Stonewall Jackson said that the Lord has fixed the time of our birth and our passing and nothing can change it because born of his hand we are and into his arms we shall return as our fate has always rested with he who made us. As that tiny child who knew little of this world returns to the bosom of the almighty in innocence and chastity, so shall we all someday if our deeds merit. An angel has returned to heaven. God bless the little child.
