Watch the honor guard. The soldier carrying the American Flag will be my son-in-law!!

You must be so proud!! I will be watching. That is, I hope they show it over here!

Doesn't Chirac remind you of the ultimate oily Frenchman, oozing phony bon homie? That may not at all be the reality, but Chirac looks as though his clacking false teeth are almost ready to fall out in his anxiety to appear (APPEAR!)to be our friend !

I feel sorry for the French people to have such a materialistic vulture for president, while WE (in the great United States of America) have the vibrant, honest, forward-looking, genuinely caring, BRILLIANT President George W. Bush.

We got to see the whole ceremony on Fox News. (AFN ditched the stupid network morning shows to show it) I thought I saw Harry too. Bob watched with me and explained some of the history behind the gun salutes. The speech given by President Bush was wonderful! It was raining there as it is here too.

Will post the Psalms later today - for yesterday. Thank you for this service to Free Republic members and lurkers - again.

Am a bit down today - will be back later. God bless those serving in our military and thank God for those who gave their lives for our freedoms. We can do no less than give our own lives in service - however that may be found - to our country, to our families, and to our God!

Yes he does. There is just something real shifty looking about Chirac.

Oh that is awful! I guess the jerks at NBC are all mad at George W. for putting David Gregory in his place. The creeps! Well, it was an impressive ceremony!

I think my other daughter taped it from Fox News!! However, she was upset that Harry's flag was the only one that wasn't waving in the wind, and they kept showing that one Marine!!!!!

Thanks for the email address! I just emailed Mr. Gregory and expressed my disappointment with his reporting. I hope he gets fired. But, of course, he won't be. But, I can hope.

Neither did Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, or Harry Truman.

I guess it's not a matter of having experience or not having it but rather putting your country's interests first and then dealing with the world. As opposed to Clintoon who always put America second to everybody else.

That said, Boy that W is doing a great job! And we thank Condi and Rumsie and Colin (sure why not) and let's not forget good ol' Dad in the shadows, a clever fellow if there ever was one.

PING! Lots of photos today, so, as always, please be patient.

Your wish is my command...mega thanks for the very revealing historically interesting photos. IS it just me or does Bush seem to be much more at ease with Putin than Chirac?

We are very familiar with those kinds of storms here in the Tennessee Valley. When it really gets rough, we turn off the air conditioning system, unplug the computer and find the matches and flashlights in case we lose power or if the storm gets too bad, we go to the basement. This is tornado territory--you know. I have been here when this area had 2 of those. It is very scary. MamaB

I think that is what is wrong with the dems--President Bush is putting America first. It has been a while since that happened. MamaB
