May 26, 2002 -- Investigators believe Chandra Levy was lured to her death by someone she knew or slain by a predator who methodically stalked her, police sources said yesterday.
Evidence collected at the spot where her remains were found points away from her being killed in a random attack while she was jogging, the sources said.

Good post, terilyn ... my thought is that a cab wasn't involved. Those records would have been (or should have been) checked early on. But I really do like John's take on the force behind this investigation ... the Federal Government! Wasn't the first no-show after the discovery of Chandra's remains ... Condit and a meeting of the Intelligence Committee?
After Tuesday, we should see the beginning of the end.

I can't prove it. I've been reading the documents at thesmokinggun.com. Looks like he burglerized an apt on May 7th. Everytime a woman screemed he ran. He's a mouse. I'll search somemore for the original source, it's important to get rid of all this confusion.

Anne Marie Smith did not believe Gary had been "fixed". He told her that birth control was her resonsibility. I did not know this. Hmmm. Wonder if that old bodyguard (Vince Flamini?) had any real knowledge of Condit's vasectomy or just assumed?
Every time you hear a new fact about Condidit, he sounds like such a sweetie, doesn't he??

To: KE I also researched this story last night, this guy was sitting in jail when Levy came up missing. He was went on trial during the first 10 days of May 2001 and was found guilty. It is funny how the MSNBC article did not mention that this guy was caught and was sitting in jail when Levy came up missing. It should have never been put in the Levy report they did as it simply means nothing to the Levy case except the fact that other murders have taken place in the park. It just goes to show you that these reporters are not checking into the facts the write. 38 posted on 5/26/02 1:19 AM Central by brigette

I totally disagree with you.
Chandra by all accounts did not go jogging in DC, she was afraid to, and had joined a gym for that reason.
As a woman, it is odd to me that she left her purse behind, but if is true that Condit didn't want his gals to carry ID...............!
Back to the purse issue, because I am considerably older than she was, leaving without a purse is not within by experience, but the younger ones these days are not the same.

Good map here....PDF. No Road or trail or picnic area nearby. She was about under the W in "Western Ridge Trail". 100 to 150 yards from intersection of Grant Road and Broad Ridge Road.

The guy the MSNBC story was refering to killed a PreSchool Teacher in January of 2001, they mention this killing in the article that was wrote about the Levy Case. They did not mention that the guy was caught and went on trial during the first week May of 2001... He had been sitting in jail and was ready to go on trial at the time Levy came up missing. When you read the MSNBC story they made it sound like this guy was still on the loose or that the murder of the preschooler teacher was unsolved. This guy is not the same guy who tried to steal walk-man's off the 2 jogger in the park after Levy came up missing. I just wanted to clear that up

There was an article by a Delaura, or DePalma, or Deandrea, from Vanity Fair (?) about Chandra's liasons with many other older men. Do you have it ?
To: brigette
Ok. Sorry, I missunderstood.
Ingmar was released pending sentencing in another case when he mugged the two joggers. They kept catching him within an hour and turning him lose again.

I think you mean the DePaulo (sp?) story in Talk Magazine that is now out of business? Check the Larry King Live Transcript Link I gave above and you will find she was on Larry King Live talking about it... start at the July & August 2001 transcripts and should find it.
To: ConvictHitlery
I know what your talking about, but I havn't seen the whole article on the net. She's been on TV a couple times this week.

Young girls in "love" sometimes do really stupid things. I think you meant to say "often" do really stupid things.

If her Internet search was the last thing she did before her disappearance it wouldn't matter if she deleted the history files. They're still on the hard drive. The question is: do the police want to find that info?

Condit is hiding out on the island of Santa CatalinaTwenty-six miles, across the sea,
Santa Catalina is the place to be,
Santa Catalina, the island of
Romance, romance, romance, romance.

a friend, who is now serving life behind bars because he blew his new, young wife's head off while role playing with a .44 magnum on Valentine's Day four years ago. The first thing they teach you at newlywed school is NOT to role play with firearms. Sheesh!

I spotted Vince Flamini at Mitchell Harley Davidson in Modesto Friday. Today I attended the Newman Car and Motorcycle show with camera in hand but Condit was a no show. I heard he is in Ceres for the Holiday weekend, hiding.

I read that article and thought the same thing.

She can only clear the history file on her own machine. Her ISP will know everywhere she's been regardless.
To: Pegita, terilyn
What's the latest on the status of a couple of Condit's buddies, young congressmen who were known to be chums of his, both republicans, one from Florida, one from Ohio, who both suddenly retired last election? Were they still chumming with Condit when this happened or had they already taken their leave?
