May 26, 2002 -- Investigators believe Chandra Levy was lured to her death by someone she knew or slain by a predator who methodically stalked her, police sources said yesterday.

Evidence collected at the spot where her remains were found points away from her being killed in a random attack while she was jogging, the sources said.

Bones can be radiated to kill the DNA. That is typically done for bone transplants

Fussybutt, that's interesting, and I didn't know that but of course I doubt our intrepid perp/s in this case would have bothered to "kill DNA" and then leave the teeth intact. Just for my own 411 does that occcur throughout the entire skeletal system or just the treated area? I would have thought just the marrow would be left that way to prevent rejection.

Re; Apartment Search

This is all I could find at this time, I am still trying to find the source that says her apartment was very clean when it was searched and that it almost appeared as if it had been clean to hide something. I'll keep looking for it

GRACE: This is what I know. I know that the cat's out of the bag, Larry. We all know he slept with a girl, OK? So what's left he needs to hide? Why is he trying to get out of that police polygraph? And another thing -- the defense attorney keeps talking so much about what he has done for the police. DNA -- they could get a warrant for that. Phone records, police already had it. Search of the apartment -- that apartment was so clean, even his fingerprints weren't in there.

It kills the DNA entirely. I have had a bone transplant. The only reason in this case would be to kill the perp's DNA. Radiation would also kill the DNA on clothes or other items.

This is what I found about CHandra's aprtment/laundry room:
Not even laundry is the social activity that it is in many buildings. The Newport has small laundry rooms located on each floor, rather than one big one—which limits interaction significantly.
ARTICLE WAS written by someone who lived in the buiding and interviewed the NEW tenant in Chandr's apartment. Things were pretty much as she had them.

So they could've tried to radiate the whole skeleton to erase the murderer's DNA but Chandra's would have been overkill with the teeth to identify her and all. How would one radiate something outside of access to medical equipment?

I think the perp wanted the body identified. A simple microwave will radiate almost anything. It is now common in the food industry to radiate meat so it has a longer shelf life. Thank You, I am much better now.

Law enforcement sources said investigators strongly suspect Levy's death was a homicide. Levy's stretch pants were found knotted, they said, indicating that the former federal intern might have been tied up.

Detectives are examining several scenarios, according to law enforcement sources, including the possibility that Levy might have been sexually assaulted. They said they also have not ruled out the possibilities that she was killed elsewhere and her body dumped in the park, attacked while walking or jogging in the park and then dragged to the isolated spot, lured to the park by someone and killed or -- a remote possibility -- that she died in an accident.

Duh! I could have sworn that Condit had a body gaurd. He was with Condit in a press photo and listed as "Condits current body guard". Big, Husky guy about 30.

Psst! There was just one person on planet earth that needed her dead on May 1st, 2001 and he lived just over a mile away.

There was just one person that skipped town just after 10:30am on May 17th, when he heard the police were finding bones and shoes in Rock Creek Park.

KING: And that's what they were investigating. That's what you were in Washington for, right? What was that about, in Washington? There was no grand jury, right?
ROBINSON: No. No. We met with two U.S. attorneys, both homicide, prosecutor attorneys. We had two FBI agents and two detectives from Washington metro police.

Looks to me like they were investigating a murder from the beginning!
