Bones can be radiated to kill the DNA. That is typically done for bone transplants

Fussybutt, that's interesting, and I didn't know that but of course I doubt our intrepid perp/s in this case would have bothered to "kill DNA" and then leave the teeth intact. Just for my own 411 does that occcur throughout the entire skeletal system or just the treated area? I would have thought just the marrow would be left that way to prevent rejection.

It kills the DNA entirely. I have had a bone transplant. The only reason in this case would be to kill the perp's DNA. Radiation would also kill the DNA on clothes or other items.
